Boot Camp Scrabble
Cardio:
To be played in an open area (tennis/basketball court). Will spilt everyone up into two teams.
There will be a bucket or container for each team with bean bags or balls in them. The buckets
will be on either side of the tennis court. Everyone will start about 20 yards away from the
buckets. On ‘Go!’ everyone will sprint to their teams bucket and take a bean bag or ball out and
run to put it in the other teams bucket. Once they put a bean bag or ball in the other teams
bucket, they will have to run back to the starting point and do 5 jumping jacks before they can
run to place another ball or bean bag in the teams bucket. This cycle will continue for the
allotted time (8 minutes). The team that has the most balls or bean bags in their bucket loses.
Loser will have to do 20 burpees.
Work Out:
Think of a phrase and make big signs for each letter. Each letter also gets a small number in
the corner representing number of reps of that exercise. Once made – you’ll have a piece of
paper which resembles a scrabble tile. Post each big letter around at a ‘station’. Each letter
would stand for a certain exercise that begins with that letter and the number will represent the
number of reps to complete. Also make a bunch of little letter tiles. Make enough for one for
each client. As soon as they complete the exercise they come to me to receive their tile. I give
them plastic baggies to keep their tiles in. Once all the stations are completed and all the “tiles”
collected go to a mat – here hold a plank as you try and sort the tiles to unscrabble the letters to
form ‘PATHFIT RULES’
Do CARDIO again before round 2
For second round of scrabble, everyone gets 10 minutes to collect as many tiles as they can
(maximum of 2 per letter) and create their own word. Once you complete an exercise, you get
that letter tile. To get the letter again, you must do the exercise again. Whoever gets the
highest point word will win. Players will have 30 seconds in a plank position to put their word
together (after 10 minutes are up). Letter points will be based on actual Scrabble points.
