2. To be able to film in their establishment, it was obligatory to gain permission first. I had to
specifically email Emma Gascoigne the Communications and Social Media manager. There was a

understanding.
I integrated formal language, so there was a sense of professionalism and maturity.

4. Due to a delay in response, I took the prospect of phoning Emma Gascoigne. I felt this was a
beneficial move that I had made as it rectified the situation. There was a form of
miscommunication where Miss Gascoigne believed she had previously sent a message.
The phone conversation was on the 14th February, 2012. She requested if I could send my
previous message (which was sent on…) giving an overall context of our filming.
5. We were in constant communication, I promptly sent messages so she was
continually updated.

10. This was the final correspondence where I thanked her for granting us permission.
When reflecting back on the journey it was time-consuming. However it was
valuable lesson learnt as I was able to persevere and not lose hope. The phone
conversation was a stepping stone for me as I was able to communicate with
someone independently and without any guidance.
