Here is a list of activities for your child to work on in the event that the school is closed due to
snow conditions.
Your child will receive 20 house points for each piece completed and returned to school when
the school re-opens.
Please note, these activities only need to be completed in the event that the school is closed.
A copy of these activities will also be put on the website.

Write about your experience of the snow. Remember to use wow words, capital letters
and full stops.
Write an acrostic poem using the word WINTER. Each sentence should begin with the
letters in the word winter. Remember to use all your senses to describe the snow.

Write out your 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. Practise them and get someone to ask you to
recall facts from these tables.
Make a snowflake using folded paper and cutting shapes out of the paper once it’s
folded.
Keep a weather diary. Use symbols to show what the weather is like. Measure how deep
the snow is each day and write it down.
Melting experiment ~ using salt, sugar and heat individually, investigate how long it takes
each one to melt some snow. Which one is the fastest? Record your results.
Build something out of snow, be creative. Take a photo.
