Target audience
My media product is targeted towards young individuals aged
about 16-23, who are obsessed with the R&B genre and
everything it stands for. I want the people that read my
magazine to feel a connection with the artists and contents of
the product, I want my audience to know the artists
background and how they got to their positions so that they
feel they can relate to them. To engage my audience as much
as possible I had to consider the micro elements such as the
language to compliment the style I want to intemperate.
Price
This was a very important aspect to consider as my main target
audience is young and therefore do not earn enough money to spend
money on expensive subscriptions as they are either in education or
employment. Having this in mind helped me to come up with a suitable
price for my audience and the research into the social class and status
did as well
Distribution & marketing
For the area of marketing I had to consider how the audience is most
likely to find out about the magazine as it would help knowing to
increase the exposure and popularity. I knew that my target audience
are more likely to find out and discover new things on the internet
because of social media sites like Facebook that allows people to
connect to others around the world. It is also free and if you have an
account you can basically post whatever you want and if the content is
popular then people will share it with others, therefore increasing the
promotion of the product. Regarding distribution I think it would be a
good idea for the audience to have the option of going in store to
purchase the magazine and or buy the digital version that would be
more popular due to its convenience.
