1. Rosacea
a condition in which certain facial blood vessels
enlarge, giving the cheeks and nose a flushed
appearance.
2. Symptoms
• Facial redness. Rosacea usually causes a regular
redness on your face. Especially your cheeks and nose.
• Swollen red bumps. These bumps may resemble
acne, and sometimes contain pus. Because of this your
skin can feel hot and very uncomfortable to touch.
• Eye discomfort. Half of the people with Rosacea feel
eye dryness, irritation and swelling, as well as redness.
• Enlarged nose. Sometimes, your skin can thicken the
skin on the nose, causing the nose to appear bigger.
This occurs more often in men than in women.

4. What causes
This?
The cause of rosacea isn’t known and remains a
mystery. It seems to involve dilation of the small
Blood vessels of the face. Possibilities are genetic

in hair follicles. There seems to be a hereditary
component to rosacea in a large number of people.
Often people have close family members with
rosacea.
5. How does rosacea “spread?”
• Rosacea doesn’t actually “spread” but it does
become more apparent when you hit a trigger
point (frustration, embarrassment, ect.)

Rosacea
It’s not a curable condition, but it can usually be
controlled with proper, regular treatments.
Some forms of rosacea that may be significantly

some patients experience long-lasting results and
may have remissions (disease-free period of time)
