Hanging Leopard
Another clip from a wonderful Kabini trip; this time it was with my brothers and some close friends.
The initial few days were quite non productive for us with hardly spotting any of the big cats, my
favorites. This one is from fourth day. Our driver spotted it first, it was with a kill. We waited there for
some time expecting her to get down for a catwalk, but after few minutes we got a feel that she was
in a lazy mood, so we thought of taking another round rather than waiting. Then towards the end of
the safari we visited her again, she was still there in the very same position. This time our intuitions
proved right, at the very last minute she decided to walk down for us. The interesting part was when
on her way down she lost her grip and slipped a bit, luckily she managed to get a grip on a branch.
She was still without proper grip and was holding the branch with two paws, swinging like a
pendulum for couple of times. We could see the chipped tree skin when she slipped. Their long tails
help them to keep the balance on narrow tree branches. The green background is what keeps me
addicted to Kabini.
