2. About 50Km north of Sim City is
a crossroads called Honeywood
Station. Historically, it’s just
been a pit stop for travellers
looking to rest between the legs
of their journey. However, with
the city’s population rising, the
province’s premier has decided
to incentivize anyone willing to
start a home in Honeywood
with a grant of $20,000.
Catherine McQueen was the
first sim to take up the offer and
was given her pick of land down
the new road from the train
station.
3. What caught Catherine’s eye
was the money. She had no
family and no opportunity to go
to university, not even a public
one like Sim State. She knew
deep down she would never be
able to become a lawyer like
she had always dreamed of. At
the very least, she could start a
life in Honeywood Station.
4. But one thing Catherine could
do was fish. There was no law
against her picking up a rod and
reeling something in. At the
very least she could sell her
catches to passers by.
5. Three of whom decided to
check out her new home while
waiting for their train to Three
Lakes. Catherine shooed them
off of her property for invading
her privacy. It’s not like her
home was some sort of
historical monument.
6. For the time being, most of
Catherine’s food was supplied at
the nearest supermarket in
Three Lakes, about 15Km away.
It was a waste to buy anything
frozen, so she stuck with only
the bare essentials that wouldn’t
go bad on her way back like
lunch meat and bread.
7. One night, while walking back
from the station, Catherine met
a lost man who missed the last
train that would get him back
home to Bridgeport. His name
was Bruce. They talked all night
while she painted, finding out
that they had a lot in common.
Well, maybe just their love of
money.
9. Sandy Bruty was an odd
character. Known in the
Pleasantview art scene as being
a bit of a hipster (she claims she
started the flame pant trend),
Sandy was always looking for a
new venture. She had a
Master’s in Studio Art from
Académie la Tour and, in the
words of her mother Maxime
Bruty, was never going to put it
to good use.
10. “This is going to sound forward,
but I’m looking for a place to
stay for a few nights. My loan
just came through and I plan on
opening a new business here
away from those Pleasantview
bourgeoisie.”
Before she had time to say no,
Sandy was already unpacking
some things in her bachelor
apartment.
11. Sandy left early in the morning
to scout some land for a
commercial development, but
promised she would be back.
Catherine told her to piss off
and went back to sleep.
12. “You don’t mind that I’m eating
your food, right? Of course you
don’t, what with being all alone
up here.”
“Uh, I kind of do.”
“Blunt- I like it. Also like how
you unapologetically matched
your pyjamas with the couch.”
13. Catherine did not plan to match
her pyjamas with the couch.
However, she did plan to try
and gross out Sandy until she
finally left.
14. Sandy Bruty thought of herself
as a lover, not a fighter (maybe
even 20 lovers). She knew how
to figure people out. She
forked over about $4000 of her
loan to get Catherine to let her
stay for the rest of the month.
16. Sandy’s business wasn’t going
to be open for another two
months and the home she
purchased for her and her
friends wasn’t going to be
habitable much sooner. She
took over Catherine’s easel and
got to making some new work
to stock up on.
17.
18. “Sandy, who are these people?”
“Melissa, AKA my copycat, and
Marylena are a couple friends
from high school and Calista
was one of the students in the
class I TA’d for.”
“And what are they doing here?”
“They’re going to help me run
my gallery once it opens. Well,
most of them at least.
Somebody managed to get
herself on academic probation
due to a bird course.”
19. As Sandy caught up with her
friends, Catherine found herself
pleasantly surprised by a
familiar face.
Bruce Rauscher had finally
returned to Honeywood Station
after months of texting with
Catherine.
21. Bruce had saved up enough
money working as a waiter in
Bridgeport to bring in $1900 to
help out. Don’t judge him for
low-balling- Bridgeport is an
expensive place to live.
22. Catherine wasted no time to
make it official with Bruce. It
wasn’t like there was much
going on up here anyways.
23.
24. Bruce’s friend Neil came to act
as best man for the ceremony,
but was a little bit distracted by
Calista. The old man had never
seen anyone like her.
Catherine on the other hand
decided to make the best of the
situation and get to know
Sandy’s friends. They would
end up her neighbours whether
she like it or not.
25. Marylena Hamilton became the
official fourth sim to move to
Honeywood Station. A bit of a
traditionalist when it came to
family life, it didn’t stop her
from wanting to become a cop.
She brought in $15000.
26. “Oh dear god…”
A couple months into marriage
and Catherine was already
pregnant. One might say that
there isn’t anywhere to get
protection up in Honeywood.
27. The fifth sim to make
Honeywood Station home was
Melissa Fancey. She copied her
friend Sandy in many ways. She
loved love and wanted to
woohoo as many men as she
could.
She also brought in $11000.
Damn these Pleasantview kids
and their money.
28. It was going to be a long while
before Calista was ready to
move up to Honeywood and
Sandy’s business was ready to
open its doors. The Three Lakes
Press was having a field day (it
was this or another story on the
life and times of Bigfoot).
