1. ART PORTFOLIO –RAYMOND
LIN
THESE ARE SOME OF THE DRAWINGS AND PAINTINGS I HAVE DONE OVER THE 4 YEARS IN HIGH
SCHOOL THAT I HAVE BIG CONNECTIONS WITH. THANKS FOR CHECKING THEM OUT.
2. THE BEGINNING OF ALL
My very first step in my arts journey in high school
3. This artwork is a combination of water paint,
color pencil, and markers. It is a portrait of
myself in shards of different colored masks,
signifying that I put things I experience, I see,
I hear, and I love and hate, everything, into
my artworks. And the beginning of all comes
from the brain, with a man, my art teacher in
4th grade who brought me into the world of
arts. He taught me to use my creativity to the
fullest, and to combine elements according
to my heart to my artworks. The green,
frightened ghost on the left is what I drew on
the entry test to his advanced art class, so
you can say this character is the beginning of
all. This artwork also includes my love
towards piano at the time, machinery with
patterns of ancient wall painting style
decorations show the chaotic creativity that
my mind is eager to express.

5. PINEAPPLE & BANANA –
STILL LIFE DRAWING (2020)
A still-life drawing practice for drawing
class (beginner). This is the first
complete drawing I did in high school,
but I did not submit this to the
Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The
drawing reflects patience and attention
to details, every shade of the pineapple
takes a lot of patient effort and
detailed observation. As the debut
artwork, the still life drawing plays a
great head start for the next four years
of my arts journey.
10. IT’S DUE TONIGHT? (2022)
A drawing with a mix of color pencil and charcoal. Based
on a true story of I parting too hard with a tie on my
head when my friend told me that our project was due
by the end of that night. The neon style on the word
“TONIGHT” and the colorful background reflects the
atmosphere at the party; in contrast, the words “IT’S
DUE” with a warm, floating, stuffed, and wild color theme
and pattern to show the sudden shock that the words
brought when I heard them. My facial expression was
exactly like that according to video footage. However,
when I drew this in class, we were restricted to only use a
mirror to draw our self-portraits. So, I had to constantly
make that facial expression in front of a drawing class of
10.
11. PAINTINGS
A mix of water paintings (I don’t really enjoy) and acrylic paintings (my favorite art
style).
12. Buffed Pink Pikachu (2023)
This artwork is a favorite and the center of
conversations of school visitors. A gift from
one of my best friends in high school,
Youngshin Choi, who gifted me a 3D printed
pink Pikachu full of muscles during wilderness
staff training. It is a symbol of strong
brotherhood and gratitude I have towards the
friendship I will forever be grateful to have. I
uses a street-graffiti-style pattern that contrast
the spotlight casted on the pink Pikachu. It
could be seen as a still life drawing, but I
twisted his waist a little and did some tweaking
here and there on his muscles to maximize the
majestic effect of the model. This artwork is by
far my favorite, and it is now hanged on the
hallway of my high school.
13. Titanic’s Passive Income (2023)
I like making any kind of negative news into
arts and jokes to light up the atmosphere,
and people love it. When I see their smile
when they are supposed to have dead facial
expressions. This contemporary art is on the
news of the destroyed submarine that went
down deep into the sea for a tour of the
Titanic. The ”Passive Income” here means that
the Titanic does not have to work or do
anything and still gains 5 human souls after
hundred of years(Titanic takes human souls as
income). The northern light and the stars
behind it is a contrast of beauty and peace to
the panic black dots of human in the cold sea
and the sinking Titanic.
14. Season Dogs Project – Fall (2023
Unfinished)
It is an ongoing senior painting project I do in my
dorm room. I paint a dog that has a great value to me
and attach them to a season, so in the end, there will
be Summer Dog, Spring Dog, Fall dog, and Winter
Dog. This unfinished artwork is Fall dog, named
Bobathan. Bobathan has been on my phone wallpaper I
got from Pinterest for more than 2 years. The fact that I
am not tired of seeing him every time my phone is
turned on says a lot about his charisma. Bobathan has
green eyes and loves to wear my cyan colored onesie
with camping figures all over it. In the artwork, he
pokes his head out in a pile of Autumn leaves which
reflects the picture on my wallpaper, thus making him
the Fall Dog.
17. SCHOOL CLASS RELATED ARTWORK
These are some artworks that I have done in other classes for projects, or cases that
people requested for help (I did not get paid).
18. AP Chemistry: Bookmarks
(2023)
At the end of the school year after the AP
tests, my AP Chemistry teacher asked us
to make bookmarks for ourselves, and
the ones that are handpicked by her son
will be printed in the library for everyone
in school to pick up. I did one about
Walter White from Breaking Bad saying ”I
am the one who reads”, in contrast to his
famous line in the show “ I am the one
who knocks”. The other one is from
Reputation album by Taylor Swift
because I am a huge Taylor Swift fan,
Swiftie. The Walter White one was
handpicked by her son and massively
printed in the library.
19. English 10: Comic Project on African
Legends
(2022)
I did this one-page comic project on an African
legend about a powerful demi-god, Jomo, who
kills to solve conflicts, and serves as a guardian
to the village that worship him to keep them
away from war. This comic page is loved by my
peers and English teachers that they passed
around a lot. The mix of pencil and red marker
fits the story’s theme perfectly and brings out
the deadly, fierce, and bloody theme of the
African legend.
20. A sketchbook that has my
doodles I did during my free time
and between classes, during
lunch, during classes, or on even
in the airport.

26. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING YOUR
TIME TO LOOK THROUGH THIS!
IT MEANS A LOT TO ME NO MATTER
VIEWING IT. I HOPE THESE ARTWORKS
INSPIRE YOU TO STEP OUT AND DO
THINGS THAT YOU LOVE NO MATTER
WHAT OTHERS SAY!
YOU CAN DO IT!
p.s. a lot of the artworks are gifted to others; also, one of my most famous arts
style is putting on a show, which really can’t be shown here, such as setting up
a walk-in Migos rapping show for my friend’s homecoming proposal, etc.
