This document provides 10 examples of sentences written in the passive voice. Each example identifies an invention, discovery or work of art along with the person who created/discovered it, with the subject of the sentence being the item created/discovered and the person responsible mentioned afterwards using the verb "was + past participle". The list includes inventions and discoveries such as the Mona Lisa painting, light bulb, telephone, printing press, engine, telescope, microscope, gunpowder, gun and radar.
