The Federal Reserve is expected to announce another large interest rate hike at its next policy meeting in an effort to continue fighting high inflation. Policymakers have signaled they will likely approve another supersized 0.75 percentage point rate increase in September as they work to cool the economy and bring prices under control. Higher borrowing costs have already begun to slow housing and other sectors of the economy but inflation remains stubbornly high.
