2. Basics about cone of vision?
The cone of vision depends on the type of LEDs and the design of the DMS
Most of the highway DMS have a 30 degrees cone of vision
30 degrees cone of vision covers up to 5 lanes and is visible up to 1000 feet for an 18inch
character

Regular DMS = 30 degrees
Visible by all lanes

Visible by less number of lanes

4. Example of Application = HOT Lanes
HOT lanes drivers must not see the Toll rate sign ahead of them
which should be visible only from the other lanes
If the sign 4 has a 30 degrees cone of vision, it will be visible by all lanes included the two
HOT lanes
