Re: Threat at Byron High School
Press Release
On February 9th, 2011, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office learned of a threat to the
general school population of the Byron High School. During the course of the
investigation, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office personnel developed probable cause to
arrest a 16-year old male from Byron for Terroristic Threats.
The 16-year old was taken into custody, on February 9th, 2011 and transported to the Many
Rivers Juvenile Detention Center. The 16-year old is a student at the Byron High School.
The case will be referred to the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office for review on the
recommended Terroristic Threat charge on February 10th, 2011.
At this time, the initial investigation has determined that the threat made by the 16-year old
male did not pose an immediate threat to the Byron High School students and staff.
More information may be released on Thursday’s, February 10th, 2011, morning press
conference.
