Jaie's Journey Inc. was established in Queensland after the founder's youngest child, Jaie Moran, died by suicide at age 22 after struggling with bipolar disorder. The organization aims to provide prevention, awareness, and postvention support for those impacted by suicide and their families. The Beginning.
Jaie's Journey Inc. was established as a
charitable organisation in Queensland, after
our family lost our youngest child Jaie Moran,
to bipolar and ultimately suicide.
Only 2 days after his 22nd birthday.

4. Royal Flying Doctors research has also discovered that male suicide
rates amongst men are:
1.8 times and 2.9 times higher in remote and very remote areas
(respectively) compared to men in major cities.

September 2016 - 2015 figures from the ABS are as follows:
• Suicide is again the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15-44
• The report released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows that 3,027 Australians died by suicide in 2015.
This is an 5.4% increase from the previously reported 2014 figure of 2,864.
• Suicide death rates in the 15-17 age-group for males was 8.7 per 100,000 and 6.3 per 100,000 for females
• 8.3 deaths to suicide in Australia, everyday. 6 out of every 8 suicides per day are male.
• Suicide was the second leading cause of death among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men with 110 deaths at
a rate of 39.2 per 100,000 behind heart disease

• Why didn’t he/she?
• Why didn’t I/they?
• Why didn’t?
• What could I/they have done to prevent this?
• How can I/we survive this?
• Will I/we lose another to suicide now?
• How did it get to this?
• Didn’t he/she know I loved him/her?
• Didn’t he/she love us?
Hindsight is a cruel & merciless beast.
These are by no means a complete list of the tormenting questions we are left with.
When suicide first happens, your mind is unstoppable in its ability to torture
you beyond your beliefs.
We survivors are also now at a greater risk of dying by suicide as well.
