Hello friends, this is your friend Partha Gupta. Over the years I have conducted so many quiz contests
and got your illustrious presence and immense support. In this grim situation of Lockdown due to Covid-
19, I have decided to start an online quiz series ‘Theme Quiz Journey’. It will come on every Sunday @
10 pm. On the inaugural day on 10th May, ’20, I have placed a special Theme Quiz (Plz follow my FB
page). Besides, I shall place a special set (Theme Quiz) on the 1st Sunday of every month. Today, I am
placing a set 10 qsn. of mixed flavour. Anyone can participate in this weekly quiz contest.

I was born on 31st May, 1928. I scored a century on my
first-class debut. I represented India and made a cricket
record which was stood 52 years. My son and nephew also
played Test cricket for India. I captained India in a Test
match in England in 1959, which India lost.

4. ‘X’ is one of the world’s more well-known and useful plants. It is originated in
the tropical rainforests of Indian subcontinent. It is used for centuries as a
spice for flavoring food and as a medicinal plant. Chinese and Ayurvedic
practitioners have relied on it for at least 3,000 years for its anti-inflammatory
properties. By the 11th century, it was a common trade article from the East to
Europe. It contains a diverse array of many important vitamins and minerals.
The health benefits of it include reduce hypertension, inflammation, DNA
breakage, nausea, migraines and amyloid beta build-up which is involved in
Alzheimer’s disease. The oil of it also used for perfume.

7. On 10th April, 2013 Heritage Auctions of New York
organised a special auction. Jack Wang, CEO of
Biomobie, a regenerative medicine technology company
located in Silicon Valley and Shanghai, bought an item
for over £1.3m.

9. I am a 91-year old solar astrophysicist, for whom a special spacecraft is
named. It is the first instance that NASA has named a spacecraft after
someone still alive. A memory card containing the names of over 1.1 million
people was mounted on a plaque and installed below the spacecraft’s high-
gain antenna. It went to space on 11th August, 2018 but cancelled before 1
min. 55 sec. On 29 October 2018, the spacecraft surpassed the current
record of 26.55 million miles from the Sun's surface.

10. ‘X’ is a historical character. The meaning of his name is-
‘Living image of Amun’. When he became king, ‘X’
married his half-sister, Ankhesenpaaten, who later
changed her name to Ankhesenamun. They had two
daughters, both stillborn. Computed tomography studies
released in 2011 revealed that one daughter was born
prematurely at 5–6 months of pregnancy and the other at
full-term, 9 months.

seasons. He represented his nation at the 1994 World Cup. He started
working as a manager in 2003 and spent several years in charge of his
nation’s youth teams, leading the under-19 and under-21 sides to

years, being dismissed before the start of a FIFA World Cup following
the announcement of his agreement to join a club after the tournament.
