Intel announced their new Atom Merrifield mobile processor at Mobile World Congress and Computex 2013, with plans to launch devices using the chip in 2014. The Merrifield is an updated version of Intel's Atom processor that promises up to 50% better performance and an "integrated sensor hub" to support devices running Android, Windows 8, or Ultrabook-style designs with 4G LTE connectivity.
