they didn’t exchange numbers that day, fate stepped
in and they coincidentally became neighbors. As
they ran into each other more and more, the two
eventually got to know each other and started
dating. Though they had talked about getting
married and had even picked out a ring, five years
later Angellique was hoping for an actual
proposal. So while out to celebrate Angellique’s
birthday, Adrian popped the question in the
middle of a nine-course meal. —A.W.

the ceremony
The officiant customized the
ceremony for Angellique and Adrian,
who wrote their own vows. One of
the groom’s friends provided an
eclectic mix of music for the
personalized ceremony via an iPod,
which played tunes by Madeleine
Peyroux and Thievery Corporation.
the ceremony décor
Two topiary trees flanked the
altar, and chairs were set up to
form one center aisle.
the programs
The couple didn’t provide traditional
programs—instead they handed
out copies of a reading from Ralph
Waldo Emerson’s “Circles” and
printed them on circle-shaped,
metallic silver card stock. >>
style notes
“We wanted our wedding to feel
fun, elegant, and modern with a
Gatsby vibe,” says Angellique. A
graphic designer created a circular
“math equation” logo for the
couple, and they used a celery
green, chocolate brown, and silver
color palette to capture the style.
