Bone Marrow Registry Drive flier 2011
1. The Dr. Tana Grady-Weliky
Bone Marrow Registry Drive
Time: Noon – 6pm
Date: Thurs Feb 17th &
Fri Feb 18th
Location: Kohler Pavilion,
alcove in front of the 9th floor
coffee shop
Thousands of patients with life-threatening cancers depend on bone marrow donations
for treatment. Unfortunately, finding an identical genetic match is extremely difficult and
requires the help of a national bone marrow registry to match donors with recipients.
Many patients lose their battle with cancer while waiting for a compatible donor to be
identified. This bone marrow registry drive seeks to sign up volunteers who are willing
to add their names to the national list of potential donors.
The drive will be held in the Kohler Pavilion alcove in front of the 9th floor coffee shop
and will take place on February 17th and 18th from noon to 6pm each day. As a
special thank you, there will be free Voodoo Doughnuts for those who sign up. Signing
up for the bone marrow drive does not automatically mean you will donate bone
marrow, just that you will be on the contact list if a match is made. For more
information about the National Marrow Donor Program, please see

This drive is named in honor of Tana A. Grady-Weliky, MD, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical
Education and Professor, Department of Psychiatry, who passed away on January 18th 2011.
