Spice Girls Rock Out and Sing 1994 Spice girls formed  Consists of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm.  They signed to Virgin Records.  Their first single was Wannabe.
Ebola Virus January 6th 1995 The disease is named after the Ebola River, near the place where the disease first broke out.  This infection causes fever, muscle pain, and a headache. Many people also experience a rash. On January 6th, the virus killed 244 Africans.
Full House Ends May 23rd 1995 The last episode airs of Full House.  The first season started in 1987.  It has started careers for Bob Saget, the Olsen Twins, and Candace Cameron.  The twins Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit) decided to quit acting and live regular lives after Full House Ended.  John Stamos (Jesse) has made numerous appearances on commercials and television episodes.  Full House was produced by Jeff Franklin.
Microsoft Makes People Spend August 24 1995 	Microsoft introduces Windows 95. Windows 95 is a consumer oriented graphical user interface-based operating environment. In the marketplace, Windows 95 was a major success, and within a year or two of its release had become the most successful operating system ever produced.
Nsync Rocks Out On Stage The members of Nsync were JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick. They became the 3rd best selling boyband of all time.  The band has not recorded new material since 2002.  In 2007, a member stated that the band had definitely broken up.
Calvin and Hobbes Hits Old Age December 31st 1995 The last strip of Calvin and Hobbes was published December 31st.  It was written and illustrated by Bill Watterson.  Nearly 45,000 copies of the 18 Calvin and Hobbes books were published.

Bin Laden Moves to Afghanistan August 17th 1996. Osama Bin Laden is expelled from Sudan and moves to Afghanistan. He came without invitation, and sometimes irritated Mullah Omar with his declaration of war and fatwas against murder citizens of third-party countries. Bin Laden was able to forge an alliance between the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
JonBenet Ramsey Murdered December 26th 1996 	The murder of this six year old American Beauty Pageant winner attracted the media.  She was found dead in the basement of her parent’s home in Boulder, Colorado. After several hearings, the case is still unsolved. In February 2009, the Boulder Police Department took the case back and re-opened the investigation. According the JonBenet’s mother, she noticed her child missing after reading a two and a half page ransom note that demanded $118,000 in return for her daughter.
Bop It Hits the Stores Bop It toys are a line of audio games based on concepts originally patented by Dan Klitsner. Bop It games test a player's mental skill by inducing the player to follow directions at a faster and faster pace.  Bop It Extreme and Bop It Extreme 2 were also released.

First Comet is Discovered January 10th, 1997 The first Comet of 1997 was seen on January 10th.  Its name was A1 and it was seen by GrzegorzPojmański, a polish astronomer.
Mullen Scores  March 15th, 1997 	Joe Mullen becomes the first American to have scored 500 NHL goals on March 15th.  He was a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  His playing career extended from 1979–1997.  Mullen played with St. Louis, Calgary, Pittsburgh, and Boston.
Teletubbies Uncovered March 31st 1997 Teletubbies is a BBC television series,  primarily aimed at pre-schoolers, produced from 1997 to 2001 by Ragdoll Productions. It was created by Anne Wood, Ragdoll's creative director, and Andrew Davenport, who wrote each of the show's 365 episodes.
South Park is so Funny August 18th 1997 South Park’s first episode aired on August 18th. created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone for the Comedy Central television network. Intended for mature audiences, the show has become infamous for its crude, surreal, and dark humor.
Clinton Names his Dog Buddy December 16th 1997 Bill Clinton names his dog Buddy after his late great-uncle, Henry Oren "Buddy" Grisham, who had died the previous June and whom Clinton often cited as a major influence on his life. According to the police report, Buddy was killed by a car while "playfully chasing a contractor" on January 2, 2002. The Clintons were not home at the time of the accident; The agents watching the house rushed Buddy to an animal hospital where he was pronounced dead. In 2005, Clinton acquired another chocolate Lab who he named Seamus.

Columbine April 20th 1999 On April 20th, the Columbine Massacre occurred. 12 students and 1 teacher were killed by two senior students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. They also injured 21 other students directly, and three people were injured while attempting to escape. The pair then committed suicide. It is the fourth-deadliest school massacre in United States history.
6 Billionth Person Right on Time October 12th, 1999. The Day of Six Billion: The proclaimed 6 billionth living human in the world is born on October 12th.
Peanuts February 13th, 2000 		The comic strip “Peanuts” was last published in the Sunday news the day after Charles Schulz died. Launched in October 2nd 1950, it was later considered to be the most popular and influential comics, producing 17,897 strips.
CULT! .  March 17th, 2000 Authorities in Uganda say that there were 800+ members that created a mass suicide murder by lighting their church on fire. Before they lit the place on fire, they sang for hours. The windows and doors were nailed shut.
19 Marines April 8th 2000 		The fiery Crash of the V-22 Osprey killed 19 marines. The pilot landed the plane too quickly and at too steep of an angle causing the plane to lose lift under its right rotor.
First Crew Arrives at Space Station November 2nd 2000 		One American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts became the first to move into the international space station, preparing for a four-month stay.
Bill Clinton Goes to Vietnam November 16th 2000 		After the Vietnam War, Bill Clinton becomes the first president to visit Vietnam since the end of the war. He says the highlight of his trip was visiting the countries capital, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Wikipedia is the Bomb! January 21st, 2001 		Wikipedia was created in 2001 by a man named Jimmy Wales. He created Wikipedia when he was 35 years old. While graduating, he taught at two universities and later worked as a research director.
Legal Marriage of Same Sex April 1st 2001 		 Same sex marriage was legalized in the Netherlands. They were the first country to legalize it in the modern time. By June of 2004, there were over 6,000 same sex marriages performed in the Netherlands.
Apple IPOD is the Best! October 23rd 2001 		Apple releases the first Ipod (the Ipod Classic). They gradually released new Ipod’s and they became very popular. As of April 2010 there has been over 260,000,000 units sold world wide.
9/11 September 11, 2001 	 The nine eleven attacks were a series of coordinated suicide attacks. They crashed two of the planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane was flown into the Pentagon in Virginia, and the last plane crashed into an open field near Shanksville Pennsylvania. There were no survivors from any of the flights.
War in Afghanistan  November 14th, 2001 		Afghan Northern Alliance fighters takeover the capital Kabul during the war in Afghanistan.
Suicide Bomber March 27th 2002  		The Passover Massacre was a suicide bombing carried out by Hamas at the Park Hotel in Israel. Thirty civilians were killed and 140 were injured.
Hot in Herre April 16th 2002 		 Hot in Herre was a popular song by Nelly. It was the first single from his album Nellyville. It is best known for the lyrics “Its getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes.”
General Hospital April 17th 2002 General Hospital airs its 10,000th episode.
Clarkson’s Year September 4th 2002 		Kelly Clarkson wins the first season of American Idol. With American Idol launching her career, she has gone Multi-platinum with four of her songs and has won many awards.
Peterson Missing December 24th 2002 Laci Peterson was a pregnant woman who was murdered. Her husband, Scott Peterson, was convicted of the murder and is now on death row at San Quentin State Prison.
 Columbia Disaster February 1st 2003 	 The Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster resulted in the deaths of seven crew members. They planned to be on a 16 day research mission to perform experiments in space.
Elizabeth Smart Found Like Cara Masters (in a cupboard) March 12th 2003 		Elizabeth Smart was found after missing for 9 months. On June 5th 2002 she was abducted from her bedroom in Salt Lake City Utah at the age of 14 years old.
Bombs Explode in France July 20th 2003 		 Sixteen people are injured after two bombs exploded outside of a tax office in Nice, France.
Smart Satellite September 27th 2003 	 	The Smart 1 Satellite was launched for its trip to orbit the moon. On September 3rd 2006 the Satellite ended its mission when it crashed into the moon.
Stacy’s Mom Puts People in a Trance September 29th 2003 	 Stacy’s Mom was a hit single by Fountains of Wayne. It was one of the first songs to reach #1 spot on the “Most Downloaded Songs” list on itunes and was nominated for a Grammy.
Facebook Founded February 4th 2004 Facebook founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Reagan Dies June 5th 2004 		The 40th president of the United States, Ronald Reagan dies of Alzheimer Disease.
Ken Jennings is a Smart Guy June 2nd 2004 Jennings wins his 74th game winning streak on Jeopardy.
First World Series Win in Years October 27th 2004 		The Boston Red Sox win the World Series for the first time in 86 years.
Tsunami in Indonesia Brings Some Tears December 24th 2004 		The Tsunami in Indonesia killed 219,000 people and left 500,000 homeless.
YouTube in the USA February 14th 2005 Youtube is brought to the United States. In November of 2006, Youtube was bought by google inc. for 1.65 billion dollars. The company is based in San Bruno California.
Pope John Paul has his Last Day April 2nd 2005 	 	Pope John Paul the 2nd dies in “Popeship” from Septic Shock. He was the pope for 26 years and 168 days.
Medical Weed is a Fail June 6th 2005 	 The United States Supreme Court votes to ban medical marijuana in Gonzales v. Raich.
Dennis Rader in Jail August 8th 2005 	 Dennis Rader is sentenced to 175 years in prison for killing 10 people. He was known as the BTK killer, which stands for bind, torture, and kill. He sent detailed letters to the police and local news describing the killings.
Hurricane Katrina December 28th 2005 	 Hurricane Katrina hammers southeastern United States, especially New Orleans, Louisiana, and Costal Mississippi. It hit 275 miles per hour winds and killed 1,836 people leaving 135 people missing.
New York City Snowstorm February 12th 2006 		The National Weather Service said 26.9 inches of snowfall was measured in Central Park at 4:10 p.m., exceeding the previous record of 26.4 inches, set in December 1947. About 200,000 tons of rock salt, to help melt the snow, had been stockpiled and was being drawn down from early in the morning. With winds reaching 45 mph or more, roads were drifting almost as soon as they were being plowed. The national weather service classified the whole ordeal as a “major snowstorm”.

Construction Born April 27th 2006 One World Trade Center, also known by its nickname and former name Freedom Tower, is the main building of the new World Trade Center  under construction, expected to be completed in 2013.When completed, One World Trade Center will be among the tallest buildings in the world and the tallest in the United States.
300 Million Population October 27th 2006 	 United States' population is growing by slightly less than 1 percent per year, the nation is the third largest in population behind China and India, each with populations over 1 billion.
Saddam Hussein Execution December 30th 2006 		Hussein was executed shortly after 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning local time (0300 GMT) after he was sentenced to death by an Iraqi court for crimes against humanity. Saddam had been found guilty of killing more than 148 members of the Shiite population. celebrations broke out after Hussein was dead and that there was "dancing around the body."
Anna Nicole Smith OD’s on Meds February 8th 2007 	 Born as Vickie Lynn Hogan, was found unconscious in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida in her 6th floor hotel room. One of her attorneys has confirmed that she was pronounced dead at a hospital less than an hour later. She was 39.
Brittney Spears Shaves her Head February 16th 2007 Video of the newly bald Spears, 25, was captured at a Sherman Oaks, Calif., tattoo parlor by KABC-TV in Los Angeles.
Virginia Tech April 16th 2007  The Virginia Tech massacre was a school shooting that took place on Monday, April 16, 2007 on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. In two separate attacks, approximately two hours apart, the perpetrator, Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and wounded many other before committing suicide. The massacre is the deadliest peacetime shooting incident by a single gunman in United States history, on or off a school campus.

Fidel Castro February 24th 2008 Fidel Castro, ailing and 81, announced Tuesday he was resigning as Cuba's president, ending a half-century of autocratic rule which made him a communist icon and a relentless opponent of U.S. policy around the globe.
Pregnant Man June 29 2008 	 Thomas Beatie, the world's first pregnant man, gives birth to a daughter.  Decides to carry own child after wife is no longer able to.
Dog Fight in Afghanistan March 15th 2008 		More than a hundred people were wounded and a number of dogs were killed in the blast. Eyewitnesses said the bomber sneaked in among spectators as they were packed into a tight circle around two dogs. Officials said most of the dead were civilians, but a number of police vans were destroyed.
Dwarf Planet Named Haumea  September 17th 2008 Haumea is a dwarf planet in the Kuiper belt Its mass is one-third the mass of Pluto. It was discovered in 2004 by a team headed by Mike Brown of Caltech at the Paloma Observatory in the United States and, in 2005, by a team headed by J. L. Ortiz at the Sierra Nevada Observatory in Spain, though the latter claim has been contested. On September 17, 2008, it was designated a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and named after Haumea, the Hawaiian goddess of childbirth.

H1N1 Tries to Wipe Out June 11th 2009 		In June 2009, the World Health Organization declared the new strain of swine-origin H1N1 as a pandemic. This strain is often called swine flu by the public media. This novel virus spread worldwide and had caused about 17,000 deaths by the start of 2010.
Michael Jackson June 25th 2009 	 On June 25, 2009, American singer Michael Jackson died after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County Coroner concluded that Jackson's death was a homicide caused by the combination of drugs in his body.
Dugard Found August 26th 2009 		Jaycee Lee Dugard was kidnapped on June 10, 1991, when she was 11 years old. Dugard was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California, United States. She was missing for over 18 years. On August 26, 2009, Dugard, her daughters, and Phillip Craig Garrido appeared in the office of her alleged kidnapper's parole officer in California. Their unusual behavior sparked an investigation that led to the positive identification of Jaycee Lee Dugard, living in a tent behind Garrido's home.

  • 27. Ebola Virus January 6th 1995 The disease is named after the Ebola River, near the place where the disease first broke out. This infection causes fever, muscle pain, and a headache. Many people also experience a rash. On January 6th, the virus killed 244 Africans.
  • 28. Full House Ends May 23rd 1995 The last episode airs of Full House. The first season started in 1987. It has started careers for Bob Saget, the Olsen Twins, and Candace Cameron. The twins Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit) decided to quit acting and live regular lives after Full House Ended. John Stamos (Jesse) has made numerous appearances on commercials and television episodes. Full House was produced by Jeff Franklin.

Bin Laden was able to forge an alliance between the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
  • 34. JonBenet Ramsey Murdered December 26th 1996 The murder of this six year old American Beauty Pageant winner attracted the media. She was found dead in the basement of her parent’s home in Boulder, Colorado. After several hearings, the case is still unsolved. In February 2009, the Boulder Police Department took the case back and re-opened the investigation. According the JonBenet’s mother, she noticed her child missing after reading a two and a half page ransom note that demanded $118,000 in return for her daughter.

The Clintons were not home at the time of the accident; The agents watching the house rushed Buddy to an animal hospital where he was pronounced dead. They also injured 21 other students directly, and three people were injured while attempting to escape. The pair then committed suicide. It is the fourth-deadliest school massacre in United States history.

  • 53. CULT! . March 17th, 2000 Authorities in Uganda say that there were 800+ members that created a mass suicide murder by lighting their church on fire. Before they lit the place on fire, they sang for hours. The windows and doors were nailed shut.

  • 55. First Crew Arrives at Space Station November 2nd 2000 One American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts became the first to move into the international space station, preparing for a four-month stay.
  • 56. Bill Clinton Goes to Vietnam November 16th 2000 After the Vietnam War, Bill Clinton becomes the first president to visit Vietnam since the end of the war. He says the highlight of his trip was visiting the countries capital, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
  • 57. Wikipedia is the Bomb! January 21st, 2001 Wikipedia was created in 2001 by a man named Jimmy Wales. He created Wikipedia when he was 35 years old. While graduating, he taught at two universities and later worked as a research director.
  • 58. Legal Marriage of Same Sex April 1st 2001 Same sex marriage was legalized in the Netherlands. They were the first country to legalize it in the modern time. By June of 2004, there were over 6,000 same sex marriages performed in the Netherlands.
  • 59. Apple IPOD is the Best! October 23rd 2001 Apple releases the first Ipod (the Ipod Classic). They gradually released new Ipod’s and they became very popular. As of April 2010 there has been over 260,000,000 units sold world wide.
  • 60. 9/11 September 11, 2001 The nine eleven attacks were a series of coordinated suicide attacks. They crashed two of the planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The third plane was flown into the Pentagon in Virginia, and the last plane crashed into an open field near Shanksville Pennsylvania. There were no survivors from any of the flights.

  • 62. Suicide Bomber March 27th 2002 The Passover Massacre was a suicide bombing carried out by Hamas at the Park Hotel in Israel. Thirty civilians were killed and 140 were injured.
  • 63. Hot in Herre April 16th 2002 Hot in Herre was a popular song by Nelly. It was the first single from his album Nellyville. It is best known for the lyrics “Its getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes.”
  • 64. General Hospital April 17th 2002 General Hospital airs its 10,000th episode.
  • 65. Clarkson’s Year September 4th 2002 Kelly Clarkson wins the first season of American Idol. With American Idol launching her career, she has gone Multi-platinum with four of her songs and has won many awards.
  • 66. Peterson Missing December 24th 2002 Laci Peterson was a pregnant woman who was murdered. Her husband, Scott Peterson, was convicted of the murder and is now on death row at San Quentin State Prison.
  • 67. Columbia Disaster February 1st 2003 The Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster resulted in the deaths of seven crew members. They planned to be on a 16 day research mission to perform experiments in space.
  • 68. Elizabeth Smart Found Like Cara Masters (in a cupboard) March 12th 2003 Elizabeth Smart was found after missing for 9 months. On June 5th 2002 she was abducted from her bedroom in Salt Lake City Utah at the age of 14 years old.
  • 69. Bombs Explode in France July 20th 2003 Sixteen people are injured after two bombs exploded outside of a tax office in Nice, France.
  • 70. Smart Satellite September 27th 2003 The Smart 1 Satellite was launched for its trip to orbit the moon. On September 3rd 2006 the Satellite ended its mission when it crashed into the moon.
  • 71. Stacy’s Mom Puts People in a Trance September 29th 2003 Stacy’s Mom was a hit single by Fountains of Wayne. It was one of the first songs to reach #1 spot on the “Most Downloaded Songs” list on itunes and was nominated for a Grammy.

  • 73. Reagan Dies June 5th 2004 The 40th president of the United States, Ronald Reagan dies of Alzheimer Disease.

  • 75. First World Series Win in Years October 27th 2004 The Boston Red Sox win the World Series for the first time in 86 years.
  • 76. Tsunami in Indonesia Brings Some Tears December 24th 2004 The Tsunami in Indonesia killed 219,000 people and left 500,000 homeless.

  • 78. Pope John Paul has his Last Day April 2nd 2005 Pope John Paul the 2nd dies in “Popeship” from Septic Shock. He was the pope for 26 years and 168 days.
  • 79. Medical Weed is a Fail June 6th 2005 The United States Supreme Court votes to ban medical marijuana in Gonzales v. Raich.
  • 80. Dennis Rader in Jail August 8th 2005 Dennis Rader is sentenced to 175 years in prison for killing 10 people. He was known as the BTK killer, which stands for bind, torture, and kill. He sent detailed letters to the police and local news describing the killings.
  • 81. Hurricane Katrina December 28th 2005 Hurricane Katrina hammers southeastern United States, especially New Orleans, Louisiana, and Costal Mississippi. It hit 275 miles per hour winds and killed 1,836 people leaving 135 people missing.

New York City Snowstorm February 12th 2006 The National Weather Service said 26.9 inches of snowfall was measured in Central Park at 4:10 p.m., exceeding the previous record of 26.4 inches, set in December 1947. About 200,000 tons of rock salt, to help melt the snow, had been stockpiled and was being drawn down from early in the morning. With winds reaching 45 mph or more, roads were drifting almost as soon as they were being plowed. The national weather service classified the whole ordeal as a “major snowstorm”.
