If you knew, what would
you do?
An orphan in Russia
1 in 30 children under
the age of 15...
Almost 700,000 orphans in Russia alone.

Most are turned out of the orphanage by
the age of 16 to figure out life on their
own.

Many turn to crime, drugs, alcohol, and
prostitution.
Older children have almost no
hope…

 Once past the age of 5 an orphan is considered special
needs and their chances of ever being adopted into a
  loving family are slim.

 With the likely neglect and exposure to abuse, the
psychological and academic problems these children face
deter most people from considering them as “desirable”
  children.
Why so many?

In Russia, families stricken by poverty are
often forced to give up children they
cannot afford to feed.
Some have lost parents to
crime, alcoholism, and drugs.
95% of orphans can be labeled as „social
orphans‟ with living family that is unfit or
unable to care for them.
We know and
want to go…
Our adult lives have been
devoted to working with and
bettering the lives of children
and teens.
Rob is an assistant principal at
Kings High School.  And so, through an „accidental‟
Angel teaches preschool and email, we happened upon
pre-kindergarten. Zhana, and our world has
Having four children of our own changed forever.
has only made us want to reach
out more and change the lives
of children so they have hope
as adults.
Not knowing exactly what we
     were getting ourselves into…
We decided to bring this girl into our family and show her
the love and support she has only dreamed of.
Our family is
waiting…
We have worked for months to meet all of
the obligations placed on us by the U.S.
and Russian governments and now are
finally able to meet our new daughter on
October 31.

Not having the money to begin with, we
have pushed ahead with our faith guiding
us.
The cost is staggering…at least $35,000
before it is all said and done.
Not everyone is meant to
adopt an orphaned child…
But everyone can make a difference in the lives of
those who are.
It may only be one
day of your life…

But it could change the
course of another‟s forever.
We will never
be able to
thank you
enough…

A child is waiting to be a part of
our family.
Because of what you are
planning, in a way you will be
too.

Thank you from the deepest
part of our hearts.

e, Marah, and Zhana.
