I am on freelancer website for more than 6 years. Most of the time I had to hire freelancer for my projects. While I am writing this post I am working on my 11th project for a company logo. I thought there might be few thing to share from my personal experience about all the contests.

2. I have already crossed my 10th contest successfully on freelancer. Most of my contests are for
designers and I am happy with the freelancer.com services and support.
While I am writing this post I am working on my 11th project for a company logo. I thought
there might be few thing to share from my personal experience about all the contests.

3. Successful: First of all, through contests I've met so many classy and responsible designers.
Designers who read the design briefs, checks attached files, references and searches on
Google about the products.
Unsuccessful: But there are some armature designers also. Most of the time they work hard
in wrong way to win the project. But as a bad practice of making things in shortcut, they got
rejected, underscored or reported.
Two kinds of candidates:

4. I thought about the reasons behind these unsuccessful candidates. They are very few in
numbers with lot of useless submissions.
• They are practicing while training up on class
• May be they got some bad suggestions from their trainers
• They can't read the design briefs or very armature about design basics
• They are here for testing their lucks
Reasons behind these unsuccessful candidates:

5. Whatever they are doing, we must ensure that they got at least one single positive comments.
May be they have quick turnaround skill, or may be they are using the right tools for you or
may be they are trying for you.
I always focus on being active as contest holder and try to comment on all the submission. No
matter whatever they are doing, they are doing something or trying to do something for me at
least.

6. Few points to ensure you get the best result from freelancer contests:
• Give a good title - A little title can brief much more than the hundred words if you work on the title
before posting random one. I have seen so many common words as title on contests list. It's really
works to attract quality freelancers.
• Brief your design - Brief your design in a single short paragraph. If you need to debrief more, you
can divide them by paragraph.
• Recommended Skills - Add some apps skills with auto generated skill sets. It will help to bring more
submission.
• Reasonable price - I always believe too much and too little ruins the mindset of a designers. Set
your price according to your needs. Research some other contests.
• Guaranteed - Pay first, If you really want the designer to do your work. Guaranteed paid projects
can ensure you about the quality submissions.
• Activity - In my opinion $10 project with good activity can bring the better result than $100 project
with less activity.
