Veritas Operations Manager
Veritas Operations Manager (VOM) is a comprehensive business solution for monitoring, operating,
and reporting on data center environments using Storage Foundation and Veritas Cluster Server.
This section lists the requirements for installing VOM 5.0.
Management Server Component introduction Operating system System resource
Managed host Network and firewall Web browser support VOM related links
Component introduction
Component Description Choosing criteria
Management Server Management Server is the
central point for collecting and
managing the information that
Storage Foundation and High
Availability managed hosts relay
back to it.
The host should meet or
exceed recommended system
requirements. See Veritas
Operations Manager Release
Notes.
As the Management Server
discovers new managed
Symantec Operations Readiness Tools (SORT)
hosts and monitors network
events, the host should provide
security and space for a growing
database. Ideally, the host
should have RAID-protected
storage and the capacity to grow
its file systems.
Clients that connect to
Management Server using the
VOM console (Web browser)
must be able to access the host.
Managed host A managed host is configured to
belong to a centrally-managed
deployment.
VOM supports the following
managed hosts:
Storage Foundation and High
Availability 3.5 on HP-UX
Storage Foundation and High
Availability 4.x on UNIX
Storage Foundation 5.x or later,
on all supported platforms
Hosts that do not have Storage
Foundation, or Storage
