3. A Tale Of Brothel (Said by locals)
There used to be a beautiful building in this place,
and king Krishnadevaraya attracted by its
architecture and misjudge it as a temple. Soon he
came to know that is a Brothel house. He order to
abandoned the building but the prostitute (Aayi)
wish to destroy it by herself. She destroy the
place and dig a water tank for local presently
known as “Aayi kulam”.
Then French ruler Napoleon 3 comes to know
about her story and decide to build a monument
for Aayi. Which is park monument at Pondicherry.
4. Why it looses its attraction
• It is just an ordinary park for traveller from
metro cities
• Lack of Maintenance
• No entry fees
• No special attraction
• Presence of other historical importance places
in surrounding

7. Conclusion
“Presently Park monument at Pondicherry has
losses its attraction but proper step can
increase its footfall at the same time a
revenue generation for the government. Also
this may generate some employment for the
locals”
