This document discusses several scientific findings related to cells and viruses:
1. Scientists identified a protein called ANP32A that allows avian flu viruses to replicate in cells. When this protein was removed, viral infection stopped.
2. Researchers developed a technique to tag chemotherapy drugs with fluorescent nanoparticles in order to track how drugs move through cells in real time. This could help understand varying patient responses to treatments.
3. The document discusses how genetic material in cells can be manipulated for therapeutic use, and cells like stem cells may help treat conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The cell is an important target for various medical therapies.

4. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells have in
common DNA and RNA, plasmatic
membrane and mechanisms for energy
as oxidative phosphorylation , glycolysis
and photosynthesis
The nucleus in the part of the cell that keeps
the genetic information, wich is passed on to
daughter cells by means of cell division, is
the cell control center and determinind
protein synthesis. The DNA replication ,
transcription and splising are carried out
inside the nucleus

6. HOST PROTEIN ANP32A HELPS FLU
VIRUS REPLICATE IN CELLS
chicken genes were
present and identified that
a protein called ANP32A
was responsible for
allowing the virus to
replicate.
7. MUTATION ANP32A
Mammals also have a version
of ANP32A, but it is much
shorter than the avian protein,
and avian flu viruses cannot
use it unless they carry a
particular mutation
8. REMOVED THE PROTEIN THE VIRUS
STOPPED
the human ANP32A protein was
crucial to the seasonal flu virus
replicating in human cells. When
they removed the protein, it
stopped virus infection.
The next stage would be to
investigate treatments that could
block this particular interaction
between virus and host cells as a
way to stop infection.
9. SCIENTISTS IDENTIFY PROTEIN THAT ALLOWS FLU VIRUS TO
REPLICATE IN CELLS
STUDENT´SOBSERVATION:
I think this discover is very important
because Thanks to this the bird flu
virus can be controlled and prevent
contagion from spreading quickly ,
giving an encouraging outlook for
infected populations.
10. SCIENTISTS TRACK CHEMO WITH
FLUORESCENT NANOPARTICLES
Ohio State University (OSU) , Monday 18 January

11. THE TECHNIQUE TAGS A FLUORESCENT MOLECULE
ONTO THE CANCER DRUG
The ability to track chemotherapy
drugs at the cell level in real time - as
it happens - in patients could
revolutionize cancer care by helping
doctors work out why two people
may have different responses to the
same treatment.
12. FLUORESCENT PEPTIDE 'IS INHERENTLY
BIOCOMPATIBLE'
• The team created the tiny fluorescent
peptide in Zhang's lab. The
nanoparticle is made of natural amino
acids and is inherently biocompatible
• Another feature of the peptide's
design is that the researchers
sandwiched it inside the
chemotherapy drug so it does not
light up until the two elements
separate on entering cells.
13. FLUORESCES FOR LONG PERIODS
• The blue peptide - which fluoresces under ultraviolet
light - remains lit up for long periods. This has not
been possible in experiments using organic dyes.
• One example of how such a system could help
doctors and patients is to see how well and how
quickly a cancer drug is working.
• "You can label it and you can attach it to a drug and
see where the drug goes and when it is released."
14. SCIENTISTS TRACK CHEMO WITH FLUORESCENT
NANOPARTICLES
STUDEN´T OBSERVATION
I think this type of techniques to facilitate the work of
Doctor when analyzing the progression of the
disease and as is acting a drug in each patient, and
find that each patient has a different diagnostic to the
same drug, and
giving a better outlook for the patient's life.
15. MEDICAL UTILITY
THE CELL IS VERY IMPORTAN
BECUASE IS THE TARGET OF THE
DIFERETS THERAPIES AND HIS
MODIFICATION CAN WILL BE THE
ALTERNATIVE FOR MANY
DISEASES.
16. The cell is very important
becuase contains our
genetic material which are
different genes and
proteins that can be
manipulated for therapeutic
use.therapeutic use
17. the genetic material in
the cells can be
affected and generate
trisomies like Down
syndrome, Patau and
Edwards, so the study
of the cell been
decisive in areas of
medicine and
obstetrics and
genetics
18. For example the use of
stem cell for the
tratament of alzheimer
and parkinson
