“Numa altura em que as “Digital Humanities” se afirmam cada vez mais em termos internacionais e se
multiplicam iniciativas, associações e projectos que fortalecem a ligação entre as Humanidades e o mundo
Digital, a iniciativa de fundação de mais uma associação poderá parecer redundante.
Por que então a fundação de uma associação de Humanidades Digitais em Língua Portuguesa?
A justificação deve ser vista pela positiva, apoia-se em três objectivos e numa ideia central: no mundo das
Humanidades Digitais que fala e trabalha em português, se o digital nos pode unir, é a língua que nos
irmana.
Um dos objectivos da AHDig é, assim, o de criar um fórum de reunião, debate e partilha para pessoas que
fazem investigação em português ou investigação sobre os múltiplos espaços da expressão portuguesa, à
escala global, e que de algum modo incorporam uma perspectiva digital no seu cotidiano científico.
Outro objectivo é o de fomentar redes e relações num espaço cultural e linguístico próprio e coerente que
facilite o diálogo, a troca de experiências, o trabalho colaborativo, mas que ao mesmo tempo possa
potenciar a integração e visibilidade da investigação em HD feita em português nas redes e associações
internacionais.
Por fim, pretendemos uma divulgação mais articulada da investigação e da prática em HD na comunidade
académica de língua portuguesa como forma de afirmar e desenvolver esta área disciplinar emergente.
