Amid Sensex tumbling over four per cent in a week, the ten most
valued companies witnessed a wealth erosion of a whopping Rs 1 lakh
crore last week, with the country's largest lender State Bank of India
emerging as the biggest loser.
The Bombay Stock Exchange barometer Sensex declined by 4.03 per
cent or 848 points at 20,156.89, making the top ten firms in terms of
market capitalisation lose Rs 1,05,271.24 crore
MOST EXPENSIVE COIN ON TAJ TO BE
RELEASED IN PARIS
Agra Mayor Anjula Singh Mahaur on Sunday said both the
central and Uttar Pradesh governments were not interested in
promoting tourism. Her remarks come close on the heels of her
proposed trip to France for the release of the most expensive
coin on the Taj Mahal being shot down.
The French coin depicting the Taj would be the most expensive
to be released by the Paris mint. It will weigh around 1 kg and
will carry 50 diamonds. It is priced at $140,000.
NOT JUST COST-EFFECTIVE, SMALL CAR MUST
SELL WELL: RAHUL BAJAJ
Bajaj Auto Chairman Rahul Bajaj today said the company's
proposed small car will not only have to be cost-effective, but
should also sell in large volumes to be a feasible proposition.
"A car at a cost of less than Maruti 800 is not going to work...
My son Rajeev may not like to sell a car with EBIDTA less
than 20 per cent," Bajaj told reporters at the India Economic
Summit here
MAHINDRA TO DOUBLE OUTPUT OF ITS SMALL
TRACTOR YUVRAJ
Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra today said it will
double the production of its small tractor Yuvraj, dubbed
as the Nano of the farm sector, as it looks at a national
roll-out next year.
Priced at Rs 1.75 lakh, the 15 horse power tractor was
launched targetting to upgrade farmers who are still
relying on bullocks
