4. Weather in Vietnam
Vietnam has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 20
degrees. Its weather is divided in two seasons: the dry season (from
December to April) and the wet season (from May to November)
6. Ethnic groups
There are 54 ethnic groups in
Vietnam, each groups has its own
language, lifestyle and cultue. The
most numerous are the kinh, the
Tay and the Tai
7. Gastronomy
Vietnamese people use many
spices and vegetables in their
food. Each country has its own
gastronomy, like Cà Mau where
is very typical to cook turtle
8. Political divisions
Vietnam is divided into 8
regions:
- Northwest (Tây Bắc Bộ)
- Northeast (Đông Bắc Bộ)
- Red River Delta (Đồng Bằng Sông Hồng)
- North Central Coast (Bắc Trung Bộ)
- South Central Coast (Nam Trung Bộ)
- Central Highlands (Tây Nguyên)
- Southeast (Đông Nam Bộ)
- Mekong Delta (Đồng Bằng Sông Cửu
Long)
9. Tây Bắc Bộ
It’s divided into 6 provinces: Điện Biên Phủ,
Hòa Bình, Lai Châu, Sơn La, Lào Cai and Yên
Bái
10. Điện Biên Phủ
It’s located in the northwest of Vietnam, here occurred the
battle of Dien Bien Phu. It’s famous for the Viet Minh
cemetery which was built to commemorate the victims of
the war
11. Hòa Bình
Hóa Bìhn is a rural province close to the river with beautiful
landscapes and lush vegetation. In this province is located the
Ba Vì national park
14. Sơn La
Sơn La is located in the south of
Tây Bắc Bộ, the Hoa Ban is the
symbol of the province and here
you can visit the Sơn La Former
prison and Museum, full of
historical objects
15. Lào Cai
Lào Cai is one of the most
important and touristic cities in
Vietnam. 60 km at the north of
the city is located the Bac Ha
market, and in the south is
located Sa Pa
16. Sa Pa
Sa Pa valley lies at an altitude
of about 1500 metres. It is very
well known for its rice terraces
and it’s a very important place
for trekking. Here is located the
Hoàng Liên national park
19. Đông Bắc Bộ
Đông Bắc Bộ is located in the
notheast of Vietnam and it’s
divided into 9 provinces: Bắc
Giang, Bắc Kạn, Cao Bằng, Hà
Giang, Lạng Sơn, Phú Thọ,
Quảng Ninh, Thái Nguyên and
Tuyên Quang
20. Bắc Giang
In Bắc Giang you can visit the Di tích mộ đá temple and cross
by motorboat the Khuon Than lake
21. Bắc Kạn
Here is situated the Ba Bể lake and Ba Bể
national park
23. Cao Bằng
Cao Bằng is located in the north of Đông Bắc Bộ. Here
are located some beautiful places like the Pác Bó lake,
the Kỳ Sầm temple or the Coi Binh Church
30. Quảng Ninh
It’s located in the northeast of
Vietnam, here is situated the
Bái Tử Long national park and
Ha long bay, declared world
heritage site by UNESCO in
1994, you can cross this bay by
the traditional vietnamese
boats
35. Đồng Bằng Sông Hồng
Đồng Bằng Sông Hồng is divided into 8
provinces: Bắc Ninh, Hà Nam, Hải Dương,
Hưng Yên, Nam Định, Ninh Bình, Thái Bình,
Vĩnh Phúc and two municipalities: Ha Noi
and Hai Phong

Ha Noi is located in the northeast of Vietnam. It’s also the capital of
the country and its second largest city. Here is located the Imperial
Citadel of Thăng Long a world heritage site by UNESCO since 2010

Bắc Trung Bộ is located
in the north central
coast of Vietnam and
it’s divided into 6
provinces: Hà Tĩnh,
Nghệ An, Quảng Bình,
Quảng Trị, Thanh Hóa
and Thừa Thiên–Huế

In Thanh Hóa we can find
the Citadel of the Hồ
Dynasty, declared world
heritage site by UNESCO in
2011 and Bến En national
park founded in 1992
61. Nam Trung Bộ
Nam Trung Bộ is located in the
south central coast of Vietnam.
It’s divided in 7 provinces: Quảng
Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Phú
Yên, Khánh Hòa, Ninh Thuận,
Bình Thuận and 1 municipality: Đà
Nẵng
62. Quảng Nam
Quảng Nam is a very important
province for tourism, here is
located Mỹ Sơn temple and the
city of Hoi An, both declared
World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Besides you can find the Cu Lao

70. Khánh Hòa
Khánh Hòa is an important
province for tourism, it has
trekking routes, beaches
for surfing and its bay is
considered as one of the
most beautiful of Asia
73. Đà Nẵng
Đà Nẵng is the fifth largest
city in Vietnam, is also one
of the most important for
its economy and it has one
of the main ports of the
country
74. Tây Nguyên
Tây Nguyên is located in the
central highlands of
Vietnam, bordering with
Laos. It’s divided into 5
provinces: Đắk Lắk, Đắk
Nông, Gia Lai, Kon Tum and
Lâm Đồng

Cát Tiên is located
in Lâm Đồng. It’s a
natural reserve with
beautiful nature and
exotic animals

Bidoup Núi Bà
National Park is
also located in Lâm

82. Đông Nam Bộ
Đông Nam Bộ is located in the
south of Vietnam. It’s divided in 5
provinces: Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu, Bình
Dương, Bình Phước, Đồng Nai,
Tây Ninh and 1 municipality: Ho

province for the economy
because it has one of the most
productive agriculture but also for

90. Đồng Bằng Sông Cửu Long
Đồng Bằng Sông Cửu Long is located
in the south of Vietnam and is divided
into 13 provinces: Can Tho, An Giang,
Bạc Liêu, Bến Tre, Ca Mau, Đồng Tháp,
Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Soc
