1) Create a Supply List
People should prepare for anything because preparedness helps families be more
self-reliant, which can give bring a level of calm. If you want to be prepared for
anything, you need to start with the basics. Make sure your family is stocked up on
the essentials and has all the supplies needed for everyday life. This includes food,
water, flashlights, first aid kits and medicines appropriate for children and adults,
batteries, battery-powered radio/CD player with extra batteries, solar energy power
supply, and cranksets/chargers, basic tools such as
pliers/wrenches/screwdrivers/hammers, cash (small bills) and other items you may,
later on, find to be useful.
2. 2) Create your emergency kit
Here are links to training resources and items to include in your
emergency kit:
- Drinkable water filter
- Tactical flashlight
-Survival training
- Survival Food
- Solar panel
- Build your own solar system
- Solar sun tracker
- Rife Machine Frequency
- DIY Survival Projects
3) Establishing communication plans
In times of crisis and disaster, people may find it difficult to contact their loved
ones for a variety of reasons, such as losing their cell phones or the
communications infrastructure in the affected area being destroyed. It’s important
that your family can communicate during these times, so they are prepared for
whatever happens next. I recommend that you make a list of emergency contacts
and identify people and institutions that you can contact during a crisis to connect
with your loved ones. For example, an aid worker who has an emergency radio or
journalists who are covering the event could help you notify your family if you
don't have phone reception. Also, you could consider buying emergency
communications equipment that works off the grid, such as satellite phones or
HAM radios.
4) Start preparing today
Preparedness is not just about knowing what to do when disaster strikes, but also
knowing how to do it. You can't rely on others to help you during an emergency, so
it's important to create a plan with specific instructions for what to do if your
family is hit with a natural disaster or emergency event.
3. A good start would be creating an emergency plan that includes how you will
respond and communicate with each other in case of emergencies, and what type of
supplies you will gather before the storm hits. Your preparation should also include
taking time now to learn basic survival skills like fire building, shelter building,
and basic navigation techniques.
