Evaluation 6: Whathave you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
In this process I used a variety of different websites. The first example of a
website that I have used is indesign. Indesign was used to construct the
magazine altogether, this is an adobe product and it works by using layers which
can be difficult at times. By doing this process you will end up with the end result
that I have. I have learnt that when using indesign you have t pay attention to the
little details because things like stretching he picture too much may result in it
coming out completely wrong, I also learnt to be patient when it came to using
indesign because it’s a new product because one error can ruin the whole thing.
Photoshop, this was used to edit picture for example, changing the brightness,
cropping the picture or removing blemishes in the models face. This is another
on of adobes products and it was very useful for my production. By using photo
shop, I was able to edit my pictures appropriately and was able to then put it
onto indesign for my magazine pages. In order to edit the pictures you had to use
the following tools: Healing brush, Crop, Blur, smudge and sharpen and magic
wand. I learnt that you have to be committed hen working with photo shop
because it is difficult to use but if you keep trying you will eventually get the
hang of it and it will become a lot easier.
Blogger, this was the website used to upload all of the work that I had completed
in the process of creating the magazine. I would upload regally in order to show
my progress and how I was doing with the production. They would put the work
in order for me so I wouldn’t have to go back and order it myself. I found using
blogger difficult firstly because finding the embed code on all of the other
websites was not easy especially when it come to documents such as word and
power point, I was n aware that I had to use another website (Slide share) in
order to get the embed code. Once I learnt this, it was as if Slide share had
become my best friend, it was so much easier for me to upload my word. I didn’t
really learn much about blogger as I had known what blogger was before we had
to use it but I can say that I learnt how to be confident in find embed codes and
publishing my work.
Prezi, this was a website that I am very confident in using because I have a lot of
experience from other subjects such as English. When using prezi it is so simple
everything is clearly layed out so it’s not difficult at all. It is a free website that
allows you to create your presentation but it does it so that it moves which is a
unique way of keeping your viewers interesting and engaged. I created a few
posts on prezi and I did it with ease.
Glogster, this is the last website that I will mention as it took me the longest to
get use to, I started ne of my evaluation questions on this website and it deleted
on two occasion. When you create a glogster it can be presented so nicely you
can upload pictures and videos to it so it is very versatile. I learnt how to use it
and make it look like a live wall or live poster which I think is really fascinating.
2.
Lastly a camera, this camera was used to take my images and without the camera
I would have no production work. Once Mr Jarrett programmed the camera and
showed me how to use it I was able to relax and take pictures as if I was a
professional photographer. I learnt that its all bout the distance for example
when taking a close up it is better to tae the picture closer to the model rather
than zooming in because when you zoom in it make the model look slightly
alienated but by moving closer to the model and taking t there the image comes
out nicer.
