Bali's Top 7 Restaurant Picks
1. Bali is popularly known as the banker’s beach destination. With so
much happening in Bali and so many new venues popping up, the island
is saturated with some of the world’s most trend-setting restaurants.
These are 7 of my top picks in Bali.
LA LUCCIOLA, Seminyak Region – Italian
Luciolla has a breakfast menu that varies from traditional Indonesian to
continental, with pastries and fresh bread. And in addition to food, the
view overlooking the coast of Petitenget is beautiful. I always head
upstairs section as a nice breeze is almost inevitable. The breakfast, lunch
and dinner menus are all equally enticing.
La Lucciola, Seminyak
JIMBARAN SEADFOOD DINNER, Jimbaran Region – Seafood
This is not exactly one restaurant per say but head down to Jimbaran
anyway before sunset to get a table at one of the many restaurants that
line up by the beach. The ambiance here is amazing as you dine and
watch the sun set over the horizon in spectacular hues of orange and
purple. Seafood here are generally delicious albeit a bit pricey, take your
time strolling and peeking at the menu before deciding on which
restaurant to eat.

2. SARONG, Seminyak-Petitenget Region – Asian
Sarong Restaurant by Chef Will Meyrick is one of the most established,
and talked-about restaurants in Bali. There is a reason why regulars go
back to Sarong again and again, it promises an epicurean experience that
lives up to its name. This combined restaurant and cocktail lounge takes
traditional Asian street food to a new level. Get there early and let the
barman shake you up a Grape Escape or a Lychee Banshee before you
settle at your table. My personal favourite!!!
Sarong, Seminyak
A METIS, Seminyak-Petitenget Region – French & Mediterranean
MÉTIS Restaurant is a sensory dining experience bourne of the sheer
pleasures of living. It occupies an
expansive two story complex in the heart of Seminyak. The restaurant is
absolutely gorgeous surrounded by incredible landscaping and an open
dining area that overlooks a serene rice patty giving off a laid back and
classy vibe. The deserts here are a must try.
A Metis, Seminyak

3. POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB, Seminyak Region – Western &
Asian
A spectacular beachfront amphitheatre- its sprawling lawn partially
encircled by the sleek, contemporary pavilion- featuring two levels of
restaurants and bars that all overlook the palm tree fringed beach and
Indian Ocean beyond. Much has been said about this popular beach
club – the awesome location, the superb vibe, the cool crowd – but really,
it is a place that you must drop by and experience it on your own.
Potato Head, Seminyak
AYANA ROCK BAR, Jimbaran Region – Sunset Bar
With its idyllic location and western orientation, it is not surprising that
sunset cocktails are the most popular time to visit Rock Bar. Gazing out
over the Indian Ocean as the sun slowly sets with refreshing beverage in
hand- it doesn’t get much better than that. With only limited seats
available at the bar and terraces, access is controlled with a well-managed
queuing system. In –house guests get priority.
Ayana Rock Bar, Jimbaran
CAFÉ LOTUS, Ubud Region - Balinese
The cafe looks out over an immense lotus pond bordered by tall
flowering trees, and beyond that is the Pura Saraswati temple, which at
4. night comes to life with performances of Balinese dancing accompanied
by a gamelan orchestra. Be aware, though, that if you reserve a front-row
table during the dance, the price of the performance is added to the bill.
The menu here is eclectic to say the least, with well-prepared Western
and Indonesian fare.
