An avid ski racer since childhood, Kurt Grimmelmann shares his passion with others through his position as a ski tech at Heinos Ski and Cycle in Pequannock, New Jersey. He skied competitively while studying for his BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Kurt Grimmelmann was a member the University's USCSA (United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association) Division team for three years. Thereafter, he joined the team staff for an additional three years as the assistant coach. At Heinos Ski and Cycle, Kurt Grimmelmann is the head binding technician and runs the company's ski tuning shop.
