In a letter to the Chief Executive, Sushma Shetty Chawla expresses her dissatisfaction with the small increment given to her compared to her experience and hard work. While she did not directly tell the Chief Executive whom should get increments, discussions about salaries among colleagues are difficult to keep secret. She also feels some colleagues may treat her differently now due to a feeling of superiority from their higher pay. However, she has faith in the Chief Executive's sense of fairness and will wait for her return from the U.S. to make an appropriate decision on the matter.

Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I would like to stress that at no
point in my letter have I tried telling you why or whom should get
increments. The only point being made was, I feel that my increment was
not in keeping with my experience and hard work. Let me also assure you
that neither me, nor my colleagues have been sitting and discussing our
salaries as such but between friends as you would very well know, such
things hardly remain secret.
Also rightly or wrongly, I have been feeling that some of my colleagues
treatment of me has changed of late which could be because of a feeling of
superiority.
All the same dear Madam, I have a lot of faith in your sense of fairness and
would like to believe that you would understand my feelings in this matter. I
would like to wait for your return from the U.S. to take the appropriate
decision.
