7. Phayao is a small and peaceful province. It is in
the North of Thailand. Phayao is divided into the
following 9 districts : Muang, Mae Chai, Dok Kham Tai,
Chun, Chiang Kham, Chiang Muan, Pong, Phu Sang
and Phu Kam Yao. Phayao is located 712 kilometers
from Bangkok. Visitors can get to Phayao by car or by
bus. There are a lot of nice places to see in Phayao.
Such as Kwan Phayao, Pho Khun Ngum Muang
Memorial, Wat Sri Khom Kham and Wat Analayo.

8. Kwan Phayao ( Phayao Lake ) is a
beautiful natural lake which has clean and
clear water. It is the largest fresh-water fish
habitat in the upper North which provides the
livelihood of many of the local people. It is

The Pho Khun Ngam Muang Memorial,

some 700 years ago.
10. Wat Sri Khom Kham or commonly called by the
villagers Wat Phra Chao Ton Luang is the old important
temple. It is located on the northern bank of Kwan Phayao. It
houses the largest Buddha statue of Lanna Thai, Phra Chao
Ton Luang, a sitting Buddha with a Iap width of 14 metres
and height of 16 metres. The annual fair takes place every
May.
