• IPSF is the leading international advocacy
organization for pharmacy students,
promoting improved public health through
provision of information, education,
networking and a range of publications and
professional initiatives.
5. What exactly is IPSF?

– Establishing a permanent form of contact with
representative organizations of pharmaceutical students;
– Encouraging the formation and development of national
pharmaceutical student organizations without trespassing
upon their domains;
– Encouraging member associations to organize annual
international pharmaceutical students’ congresses;
– Encouraging and promoting international visits and
exchanges of students;
– Representing the opinions of pharmaceutical students in
discussions with professional, governmental and non-
governmental organizations

– Given to individual APhA-ASP chapter with best
overall IPSF activities
– Awarded at APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition

• IPSF is broken into four Regional Offices based
on geographic location (PARO, AFRO, EMRO,
APRO)
• PARO encompasses North and South America
• Growing organization, not very many activities
• Symposium is currently inactive
• US has a large presence on their board

14. Recommendations Going Forward
• By August 2013
– Complete separation of the IPSF Liaison from
GHOT at distance campuses
• Creation of GHOT Chair at each campus that deals
exclusively with GHOT
• IPSF Liaison will be freed up to focus on IPSF Missions
15. Recommendations Moving Forward
– Gainesville IPSF Liaison transitioning into IPSF
“President”
• Keep IPSF “under” APhA-ASP
• Creation of several positions under him/her, such as
Treasurer, chairpersons for each IPSF Mission, much like
APhA-ASP
• IPSF “President” in Gainesville will serve as the IPSF
Executive Liaison, and will be responsible for
completing all reports dealing with IPSF including the
APhA-ASP Outstanding IPSF Activity Award Report
