1. How my Russian
grandfather made me
an entrepreneur

2. As a child, raised by my
grandfather, in Russia, I often
heard tales of his bleak and poor
upbringing under the yoke of
communism.
With the dissolution of the Soviet
Union in 1991, I remember my
grandfather claiming that a new
era was beginning in Russia.
3. An entrepreneur at heart, my grandfather had
been denied his dreams of owning and
operating his own business.
As he often reminded me that capitalism was a
gift, he encouraged me at a young age to work
for myself, even helping me establish my first
business - a small newspaper route.
These lessons remain central to my ambition
and values, giving me the drive to build and
lead a growing business that I plan to expand
internationally.
4. Inspired by grandfather and the opportunities
that capitalism has provided, I look forward to
take the next step in my career at MIT Sloan as I
explore new cultures and ready myself to lead a
world-wide business.
