A new study found that the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted mental health and well-being around the world. Social isolation, stress, and uncertainty caused by the virus led to increased rates of depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Younger generations and women reported higher levels of distress. However, many also found benefits to spending more time with family and engaging in hobbies at home. Maintaining social connections remotely and focusing on self-care were shown to help mitigate the pandemic's toll on mental health.
