first few weeks of classes has varied
dramatically, leaving most students unprepared
for events such as this torrential downpour which
swept over the campus and surrounding city of
Pittsburg, Kansas.

puppy, Jethro. The labrador mix was found on Fort Campbell, Kentucky by her husband, Sgt. First
Class James Hawk, who brought him home to their nearby Oak Grove residence.

16. A strong line of storms moves through Oak Grove, Kentucky on the evening of July 19, 2012. Thick
clouds flashing lightening were visible from the back deck of the Hawk residence in this small
residential development of Oak Grove, just northeast of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

17. A squirrel sits on the backyard fence of the Allen home in Enterprise, Alabama on January 6, 2013.
According to the Allens, this female squirrel is a frequent visitor to their yard, digging for
something to eat over the winter months.

venue seats up to 9,450 guests and is located in Red Rocks Park, part of the Denver Mountain Parks
system.

event at Pittsburg American Legion Post #64.
Each year since the Post was established, the
Commander has an 8x10 head and shoulders
portrait framed and placed in the hall. The
American flag provided an improved backdrop
for Robert Munson, who is also the 2013-2014
Commander of Kansas’ 3rd District.

25. MISCELLANEOUS

26. Veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder often struggle with a range of extreme
emotions, from despair to rage. The separation
from their lives in the military can prove to be
challenging when adapting to the outside
world, even to their own families.
