1. War On Waste (W. O. W.) And ways on how to support it. Justin Kazuya S. Tajon 1st Year - Joy
2. --The War on Waste The War on Waste, or more preferably known as WOW, is a program started by the Social Action Coordinator, Ms. Godinez. Its aim is to help the school keep its cleanliness and orderliness. This September of 2010, the Philippine Government will establish a strict no littering rule in the Philippines. Violators will be punished accordingly.
3. --The Three R’s Every student is expected to follow the 3R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Every recess and lunch, LSQC brings out a certain song that signals every student to pick up every trash they see and dispose of it properly.
4. -- Ways on How to Support Throughout the entire school, the students are given guidelines on how they could contribute and make the WOW campaign successful. Pictured above is the opening of the War on Waste Program, which followed various performances to explain this program and why it was established.
5. -- Every trash counts. In under any circumstances that you throw away thrash, be sure that you’re disposing of it properly and on the right container/can. Learn to separate biodegradable from non-biodegradable products. The school has provided signs to guide the students on where to throw their trash properly.
6. -- Have the initiative. Even if it is not your trash, have the initiative to pick it up anyway and throw it properly. This way, as the days go by, people might even start doing it because of your determination upon it. A student is allowed to report anyone who is not following any of these rules. They will be given a sanction by the Assistant Principal for Student Affairs accordingly.
7. -- Save paper, save trees. For every classroom, there is a box wherein you will put used paper that could once again be used. Have the initiative to contribute to it. Shown above; every box for every classroom and every trash can around the school.
8. -- Learn how to have fun with it Be the first to start programs, with the approval of the school, to help the students with better understanding towards helping Mother Earth. Demonstrating on how to throw trash is a great way to start a waste management program.
9. -- Learn from others. Invite guest speakers to give deeper definitions to a waste management program and its importance. Pictured above; The Miss Philippines contestants served as guest speakers in the Opening of the War on Waste Program.
10. Discipline starts with yourself. Before you start helping others, learn to help yourself. In anything that you do comes discipline and determination. Be the first to learn it before you teach it.
