1. Countries Where Gay Marriage is Legal:
3. On these 21 countries that legalize SSM – these are
the countries that God gave them up in their vile passion.
These were the countries whose officials of their
government no longer take God’s word seriously.
INTRO:
In fact, they ignored and
don’t hold it as the
absolute and primary
authority. And yet on
their courtrooms they
used the Bible as their
means of oath.
4. Matt. 19:4-6 (Gen. 2:18–25) – Jesus clearly states
three important things:
INTRO:
1. God is the one who institute marriage –
part of the creation ordinance/mandate
= worship, work, and family. God had set
these activity prior to the fall of man
into sin in Gen. 3
2. God is the designer of marriage-
union between one man and one
woman – Matt. 19:4 (Read)
3. God is the one who officiates the
first marriage – Matt. 19: 6 (Read)
5. Illustration:
Quote from Tony Perkins - Press of
Family Research Commission, last
week after SC decision of 5 to 4
“No human court can alter, overturn
natural law. We will not lapse into
silence but will continue speak
uncompromisingly for the truth
about what marriage is always has
been and always will be. The union
of one man and one woman.”
INTRO:
6. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
A. In the Patriarchal Age (Abraham) – Genesis 18:20
1. Homosexuality led to the fall of
Sodom and Gomorrah.
2. The men of the city young & old
were involved – Gen. 19:4-5
3. Jude 9 – “given themselves over to
sexual lust and gone after strange flesh.”
B. In Mosaic Age (Moses’ Time)
1. It is an abomination and the very reason other nation
were driven out. – Lev. 18: 22-25
2. The Israelites were warned the same could happen to
them – Lev. 18:26-30
3. It was a sin punishable by death – Lev. 20:13
7. C. In Christian Age (New Testament)
1. Lesbianism and homosexuality both describes as
“vile passion” – Rom. 1:24-27
2. Both were against nature, shameful
and abomination before God.
3. Such behavior in the list of sins will not
inherit the kingdom of God. – 1 Cor. 6:9-10
Point: The Bible is clear and
consistent throughout every
period that such behavior
clearly condemned and not
made by God as some of them
believed.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
8. WHAT IS OUR RESPONSE?
A. To share the “Truth of the Gospel”
1. While society now relaxes on such behavior, moral
issue, the church must be firm on its ground.
2. We must hold fast to the truth in Jesus. – Eph. 4:20-24
3. We must teach sound doctrine according to the
glorious gospel.
B. To display the love of the Gospel.
1. It is our duty to speak the
truth in love – Eph.4:15
2. Proper approach to
those enslaved in sin
– 2Tim. 2:24-26
9. C. To offer the hope of the Gospel.
1. Only the power of Gospel, Christ’s death will be
able to deliver them.
2. Cleansing, forgiveness and sanctification to all –
1Cor. 6:9-11 (Read)
3. The fruit of the spirit to deal the works of the flesh
– Gal. 5:16-25
Point: No matter the form of sexual
immorality, the gospel provides deliverance.
D. Obey God rather than Man
– Acts 5:29 (Read) - When the
laws of the land conflicts with
God’s law.
WHAT IS OUR RESPONSE?
10. Conclusion:
Homosexuality is a sensitive
issue today, those who oppose it
often depicted as being hateful,
narrow minded.
Christians must observe what is
civil without relaxing the sound
teaching of the scripture.–
1Tim.1: 8-10; 1Pet3:15-16
We must reach out to all sinners
with the display of love, promise
of forgiveness and hope of
transformation.
