Indian Railways have carried 267.68 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during 1st April- 30th June 2014. The freight carried shows an increase of 10.89 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 256.79 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.24%.
During the month of June 2014, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 87.14 million tonnes. There is an increase of 2.19 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 84.95 million tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, showing an increase of 2.58%.

Freight During April-May 2014
Indian Railways have carried 180.63 mi lion tonnes of revenue
earning freight traffic during 1st April- 31st May 2014. The freight
carried shows an increase of 8.79 mi lion tonnes over the freight traffic
of 171.84 mi lion tonnes actua- -ly carried during the corresponding
period last year, registering an increase of 5.12 per cent.
During the month of May 2014, the revenue earning freight
traffic carried by Indian Railways was 91.83 mi lion tonnes. There is
an increase of 3.67 mi lion tonnes over the actual freight traffic of
88.16 mi lion tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during the same
period last year, showing an increase of 4.16 per cent.
