Why I chose this topic
I chose this topic because I have been a baseball and Atlanta Braves fan since birth.
Hank Aaron was one of the most important people in MLB and Brave history. I thought
that Hank Aaron would fit well with the theme this year because it has a lot to do with
racial equalities and sports.
How I conducted my research
First, I read some biographies about Hank Aaron. Next, I went online and searched
for primary sources on Aaron, I found things such as pictures, videos, baseball
cards, and even quotes. This information I collected helped me put together my
website.
How I created and developed my website
In the beginning, I logged on to Weebly and got familiar with how to create a website.
Next, I began to create my website. I started with the home page and added pictures
and my thesis. I then created 2 other tabs; rights and responsibilities. I started to fill
out all of the information needed on these pages. Once I was finished with the tabs I
went back to all my sources and started to create an annotated bibliography. I also
had a proofreader to make sure that there was no spelling or grammar errors. After
the proofreading I was close to finishing it and then i went to the NHD website to make
sure i met all the requirements.
How My Topic Relates to the Theme
Hank Aaron relates to rights and responsibilities because he has been part of the civil
rights movement in baseball. He was responsible for breaking a white man’s record
and being a role model for other races in sports. He also had the right to break
Babe’s record and compete in a white man’s sport.
