Lesson 62.notebook March 11, 2013

             Lesson 62:

             *inequality – a mathematical statement that has <, >, <, or > as a
             symbol of comparison

FYI.... < or > means to use an open circle (excluded)
< or > means to use a closed circle (included)
Lesson 62.notebook March 11, 2013

*When solving inequalities...do the same as solving for equations...

                     ISOLATE THE VARIABLE!!

****One difference...when you multiply or divide by a negative
                         number...the inequality symbol is "flipped"!!
Lesson 62.notebook March 11, 2013

            Lesson 62 Examples:
Solve these inequalities and graph their solutions on a number line.
            A) 4x > -12

            B) 6x + 1 > -5
Lesson 62.notebook March 11, 2013

             C) 2x - 5 < 3

             D) 7 < x - 8
Lesson 62.notebook March 11, 2013

             E) -2x + 4 < 12

             F) -3x + 6 > -9
