First of all, let me say a very, very big “thanks” to your organization. I must admit, I
had never heard of your foundation until this past summer, while my daughter Geraldine
“Gerri” Frayall was attending Session 2 at The Delaware Center located on Lincoln
Street in Savannah, Georgia.
I was very impressed with your brochure that was readily available by one of your
staff members, Ms. Charlie Mae. She was very informative about your organization.
Every question I asked her, she had an answer without hesitation. I admired that she
knew her job, the responsibilities of the foundation, and what was expected from the
parents.
In my neighborhood there are not that many young children for Gerri to play with or
interact with.
I firmly believe that there should be more of your organizations in and all around the
Savannah area. I provide transportation for my child to and from The Delaware Center. It
wouldn’t matter really where it was located, I would still make sure that she got to the
facility.
The past few weeks, Gerri had not been able to attend due to my illness. I have a
mild case of MS and was in a crisis situation. My daughter turned eleven on the 24th
of
October 2010.
Your foundation has made it possible for her “to be a kid!” She gets tutorial help
with her homework, she also received a very hot and nutritious meal, as well as playing
basketball, having access to the computer room, and the game room. This is a very well
put together organization. It will help keep our young men and young ladies to respect
authority, keep them on the right path, or maybe first having someone in place to get and
receive advice as well as constructive criticism, and to respect each other.
I have met Ms. Charlie Mae, Ms. Whitney, and Mr. Jarrod. These three individuals
have displayed professionalism, listening attentively to the children at the center.
I would like to see the program continue. It would be a disservice to the community
as well as our children. I had opportunities to actually sit and see exactly how your
employees interacted with the children. Needless to say, I was truly amazed. My daughter
loves coming to the Delaware Center. I ask that you please do not shut this program
down.
My daughter has enough to worry about, like my illness for instance. This is her
“escape” if you will, where she can really be a kid. The staff at the Delaware Center are
amazing as well. I cannot leave them out- they receive props too.
Through your tutorial program, my daughter is still able to remain on the Honor
Roll. Your employees have helped me to understand some of this new way of the “new
math”. You can check your files.
I look forward to doing whatever it takes to helping your organization stay alive.
I appreciate you taking the time to help our young people. Also, for giving me a
chance to let you know how much I appreciate your foundation being in place to keep
them from gangs out in the streets, acting foolishly or just being party to that
environment.
Keep up the good work! If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
With Warmest Regards,
Frances M. Padgett-Frayall
