Garden of the Coastal Plain Celebrates its 25th Anniversary with Member’s Party
STATESBORO, G.A. October 3, 2012- The Garden of the Coastal Plain at Georgia Southern
University www.georgiasouthern.edu/garden ; is hosting its 25th Anniversary and member’s
party Friday, October 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Supporters of membership will gather under
the Heritage Pavilion to enjoy live music, tasty hors d’ oeuvres provided by Old Post Office
Cafe, and toast to the Garden’s 25 successful years of expansion with wine, beer and non-
alcoholic beverages. The evening will also include the ribbon-cutting of the Bland Cottage
Courtyard Gardens, a presentation from the Bulloch Council of Garden’s club, and a tour of
future garden plans. There will also be a plant sale open offering an outstanding selection of fall
plants native to the Southeastern Coastal Plain.

About the Garden of the Coastal Plain
Centered on an early 20th century farmstead, the Garden offers visitors a unique view of the
cultural and natural heritage of the Southeastern Coastal Plain, an area rich in unique and
endangered plants. The Garden's nearly 11 acre site, located in the middle of the growing city of
Statesboro, includes walking woodland trails, Bland Cottage, Heritage Garden, Rose Arbor,
Children's Learning Garden, Camellia Garden, Native Plant Landscape Garden, Native Azalea
Collection and Bog Garden.
