Letter of Reference for Ms. Janice Harrington and Mr Dylan Vaughn Hanau, 07.05.2015
To whom it may concern,
once again, our Otto-Hahn-School invited Ms Janice Harrington with her partner Dylan Vaughn back to take part in a
third Gospel Workshop. Having worked with such a professional before, it was a sheer pleasure to hear that she had
accepted our invite months before. However, unbeknownst to all involved, the participation for this particular workshop
grew from 60 to over 300 students! The Lady who brings Authentic American Music and helps numerous nationalities
learn English with music had left such a wonderful impression on the students at the school. As the mail went out to Ms.
Harrington notifying her that we had reached one hundred plus students and were expecting more, she was overjoyed.
About one week prior to her arrival we let her know that we had peaked at 300 students. We expected a comment that
she might have to adjust her workshop or plan differently, but instead were informed that she was looking forward to it
and we were all going to have lots of fun.
During their arrival the students gleaned with joy and anticipation of the wonders that were to come. And in short, it
was truly a wonder. Ms Harringtons and Mr Vaughns passion for work and dedication to make sure this workshop went
off well shown from the first minute until the end of the concert that the students put on for over 400 spectators. Each
and every student was captured and enjoyed learning about music, language and themselves during this condensed four
day workshop. As the public exited the building, the students started asking when she would return and if they could
register now for the next workshop.
In hindsight of this entire endeavor, it is now crystal clear to my colleagues that the experience was simply more than a
professional performer singing to students and teaching them songs. It was also about the faculty growing with the
students and coming to a better understanding of what one can do when given the right platform to develop. The
energy that filled the halls and auditorium, the spring in the step of the students, the desire to capture more was
present and motivated the Otto-Hahn-School. This was done by two people, Ms Janice Harrington and Mr Dylan Vaughn.
With true enthusiasm they produced an arena of knowledge and self-recognition that emotionally wrapped its arms
around us and the students and led us into the most successful workshop ever.
Our sincerest praise goes with this reference letter. Should questions arise, we would be honored to share our positive
and rewarding experience with Ms Janice Harrington and Mr Dylan Vaughn.
