The document discusses what the author has learned from audience feedback on their promotional package for an indie music artist. They collected qualitative feedback at various stages of the project via video interviews, a Facebook group, and a final video interview. The feedback helped the author identify redundant features that situated their work within the indie genre, as well as aspects that could be improved. Key lessons included ensuring continuity across all elements, having a clear stylistic cohesion, and telling a fully clear narrative. The audience feedback confirmed that the work conformed to expectations of the indie genre.

India Jones proposes creating a pop music magazine targeting 11-16 year old girls. She chooses pop because it appeals to a mainstream audience. While other pop magazines exist, pop culture and music remain popular. The magazine would have bright colors and images of pop artists. It would cover current UK top 40 artists through articles, interviews and reviews. A sample double-page spread proposes interviewing a solo female artist in a question and answer format.

This document discusses a pop music magazine called Top of the Pops. The magazine is published monthly by Immediate Media Company. Its target audience is young girls ages 12-16, though some boys may read it, and it uses a very feminine style with bright pink colors to appeal to its primarily female readership.
1. This double-page spread is from the pop magazine TeenNow.
Music genre: pop
Publisher: IPC Media
Target Audience: Young, teenage girls.
Mode of Address –the mode of address which has been used is fairly
informal and chatty. There is a main question which leads onto the
following questions. “If you were in charge of the world, what…” this is
an interesting and new way of presenting an interview with a music
artist. A friendly mode of address has been used so it is easy and fun to
read for younger readers.
Layout –The interview has been split into four columns of text, and it is
presented in a question and answer style format. The ratio of text to
images would be 50/50 as one side is filed with an image, and one with
2. text. The picture also bleeds onto the next page. There is a man title
and then a following subtitle which explains a bit more about the
contents of the interview.
Images –the main image which has been used is of Ariana Grade, the
picture is in full colour on a white background which connotes freshness
and energy. This is typical of the genre of magazine and have been
represented in this way as they want to portray a feeling of happiness.
This relates back to the target audience, targeting young impressionable
girls who would view her as an idol/inspiration. The shot type which has
been used is a Medium Long Shot as it cuts off just above the knee. Also
the colours which have been used are very feminine, such as pink, white
and purple, these have been used because they want to relate to the
target audiene.
