2.  Clinical Medical Assistants can expect to work in doctor’s offices and clinics
and have a great amount of variety in their daily tasks. Some of those duties
may include:
 Taking medical histories
 Explaining treatment procedures to patients
 Preparing patients for exams
 Assisting the physician during the exam
 Collecting, preparing, and performing laboratory procedures on specimens
 Instructing patients about medications and special diets
 Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
 Authorizing prescription refills as directed
 Drawing blood
 Taking electrocardiograms (ECGs)
 Removing sutures and changing dressings
 Answering telephone and scheduling appointments
 Arranging hospital admissions and lab services

EDDA course. Expanded Duties Dental Assistants are becoming more and
more popular all the time. Upon completing the course you will be able to
free up much needed time for the dentist by knowing how to place fillings,
sealants, and temporary crowns and bridges so they can see more
patients. The more patients the office can see in a day the more money the
office makes, which in turn makes you more valuable! Dentists are paying
