1. Folding the (almost regular) Pentagon
Start with an “A” rectangle.
Fold up corner to opposite
corner.
Crease flat
Fold the irregular pentagon in half
Crease and open
Now fold in each of the sides so they lie on the crease line
The pentagon you have made is almost regular. Check to see if the sides and
angles are equal by folding. You will find that they are very close to being
equal. The Pentagon you have made is perfectly good enough for several
maths activities including finding if pentagons tessellate.
