Off-Site Oracle EBS DBA/System Administrator
1. DBA/System Administrator (Off-Site)
The DBA should be an Oracle Certified DBA for EBS 11i/R12 and Oracle RAC/Non-RAC DB11gR2.The responsibilities of the DBA are covered for
both Front End (appsTeir) & Back-End (DBTeir) for EBS 11i/R12.Currently we are having EBS 11i (Upgrade to R12 is in progress) located in three
nodes of OS type: SUN SOLARIS 10/11 (space 64-bit).The first Node is hosting 3 TOPs of the appsTier (APPL-TOP,COMMON TOP & ORA-TOP).The
DB tier is available as two RACDB11gR2 instances distributing between two other nodes.
Eligibility criteria for an Oracle DBA should be as follows:
DBA should be certifies Oracle Apps DBA in EBS11i/R12.with at least 6 years of practical knowledge in the same.
The DBA should be an Oracle Certified DBA in RAC/Non-RAC DB11gR2.With at least 3 years of practical experience in the same.
DBA should have good understanding of both EBS11i/R12 & RAC/Non-RAC DB11gR2 11g release related utilities and tools.
DBA should have comprehensive knowledge and excellent practical experience in SUN SOLARIS 10/11 & Microsoft Windows Server
2003 OS and Above.
DBA should have good knowledge of Physical Database Design
DBA should have good ability performing Oracle EBS 11i/R12 and Oracle RAC/Non-RAC DB11gR2 release and operating system
performance tuning and monitoring
DBA should have excellent practical experience in Backup and Recovery scenarios
DBA should have very good Knowledge of Oracle EBS security management
DBA should be able to provide strategic Database direction for the Organization
DBA should know how to proved application changes as per the scope of this document
DBA should have good skills to Configure/Clone all test development environment
DBA should have very good knowledge in implementing backup and recovery solutions for MM production Oracle EBS environment
DBA should have good skills in providing “Preventing Maintenance Services”
DBA should be ready for any On-Call Services
Application Support Activities
1. On-Site support as and when required in case of difficulty in the use of the Software.
2. User support in case of corruption of application software in any way, to get back to normal situation whenever possible.
3. Support by Techno/Functional Consultant for any minor changes required in Application functionality and feature.
4. Application Changing, Problem Solving, Bug Reporting, Documentation Clarification and Technical guidance related to Application
Software
5. Give MM users an Application Training when ever needed.
6. Contacting with Oracle Metalik website foe TAR and Web Conference supports for any Oracle CRM and Revenue related issues.
DBA Support Activities
Take care of the Oracle RAC/Non-RAC Database design and implementation.
Performance on Oracle RAC/Non RAC Database tuning and performance monitoring
Perform Oracle EBS11i/R12 tuning and performance monitoring
Monitoring database size, database free space, table space size etc.
Increasing the Table space size if required
Monitoring Rollback Segment
Monitoring and maintenance of RAC/Non-RAC database setup, their alert logs/trace files and their related components for any
errors and implement a proper Action Plan/Workaround to remove the Errors
Checking for invalid objects and implement the needful actions.
Perform quarterly proactive Oracle EBS Health Checks
Implement and Maintain Oracle EBS Security (Create and Maintain database Users and Roles, assign privileges and responsibilities)
Cloning of Production to Test Environment of EBS (appsTeir & dbTeir) on Windows Server and Sun Solaris servers
Monitoring of Database RAC setups and its Logs and maintaining of Database RAC cluster and its related components
Configure a proper Oracle EBS backup strategy (to be approved by MM team)
Patching of existing EBS on production and Test servers
Maintenance and creation of new Oracle RAC/Non-RAC database, table space, schema, roles and other database objects
Assist in automating the backup jobs
Troubleshooting AppsTier and DBTeir issues of the existing Oracle EBS
Restoring and recovering of Oracle Database in an unlikely event of Crash
2. Upgrading the Database to new releases
Plan Growth and Change (Capacity Planning)
Interface with oracle Corporation for technical Support
Perform General Technical Troubleshooting and giving consultation for development of Team
Perform and provide all other required actions of the Apps DBA and Ordinary DBA tasks
Provide 24X7 support when required
