Ladies and Gentlemen,people like your selves are making a difference. They’re finding TRUE
compassion for others through giving and changing their communities for the better in the
process.
My name is Wade Walker and I am a part of an organization that is leading the way for good
works and positive change. I am a part of the United Way and we are asking for your help. The
United Way of Southwest Alabama is an organization whose mission is to supply critical funding
for the needs of our community. The United Way is providing vital resources to agencies like
the Salvation Army, the Bay Area Food Bank, and 56 other community partners serving those
most in need across lower Alabama in Mobile, Clarke, and Washington County. All funding
and policy decisions are made by local volunteers and we in the three counties served see 99% of
that funding stay locally. So, as you can see, we make a great effort to distribute donated
resources to the hard working agencies in our area.
The reason I first mentioned others making a difference is that I have a sincere passion to see you
get into the game. I have been a part of the generosity of others and experienced its affects. It is
truly remarkable to see children with disabilities benefit from the services of an agency of the
United Way such as a work program at Goodwill/Easter Seals or a music project for the deaf at
the Preschool for the Sensory Impaired. These are just a few of the examples of how money
raised through the United Way Campaign changes communities and people like your selves
make a difference.
My hope is that you will consider a generous contribution when making a decision to donate. I
humbly ask for a gift of $50, $100, or $250 dollars, though there are a variety of ways to give, so
please consider an amount carefully. Also, please weight out how your donation totaled with
those of your coworkers can do wonderful things in these important agencies, because the
outcome of our efforts combined really will make a difference.
