This year, advocates focused on the inclusion
barriers, such as those in transportation,
employment, and education, that affect people
with disabilities worldwide. In addition to taking
part in other observance activities, PVA
leaders marked the 2015 International Day of
Persons with Disabilities by promoting the
ratification of the Convention for the Rights of
People with Disabilities, a disability rights
treaty that aims to protect individuals around
the world.
